so then, the G'Vrahn is quite clearly the warship of choice amongst Narn players. The Bin'tak may still have it's use if you can dump it in the middle of an enemy fleet, but otherwise, 9 out of ten pouch puppies choose a G'Vrahn. . . and so.. 1st draft. we have . . . .

**NOTE:- new version of ship on page 2. (basically new fighter compliment. left this to so people can see how it developed**

Narn Bin Tak Den'Lar: Super Carrier. Unique. War

With the development of the G'Vrahn as the regimes primary warship, those few BinTaks still in service were slowly pushed into reserve. However, the Den'Lar was converted into a "super carrier" to bring extra fighter support to any battle. The hull was shorn of many of it's weapons to make room for the launch and recovery systems. The new Narn fighters were not yet fully developed, and so the Den'Lar was fitted with a mix of the reliable Frazi and Gorith fighters. Whilst not as advanced as a Poseidon, or even the Cidikar, the Den'Lar retains the formidable armour of a Bin'tak.

it's actually scarily similar to the Cidikar... which i checked after i had designed it. obviously having the hull 6, but it has less damage, and no interceptors, also it's fighter complimet does not have the rather brutal Pikatos. I was going to give it a new fighter type, after all, the narn deserve on! but felt it might push it too far.

CONSTRUCTIVE thoughts please :-)
remember, this is because I want to get some use out of my Bin'Tak model!!

as its only frazis and goriths i would probably go for 12 of each. yes it has the mag gun but its fighters dont compare to auroras and t-bolts and its broadside doesnt match the posiedon, neither does it command value.

yeah, I thought of that, wasn't sure. I mean i could look at a new fighter and stick some of them on. a lot of races seem to be getting new fighters apart from the minbari and Narn (i'm not counting the Shial!)
but it's a first draft, was just worried about overpowering in respect to the other new supercarrier on the block :-)

well the other supercarrier has better command, better (in range by 50%) secondaries and a 4AD beam. also falkosis are a lot faster than goriths and pikatos outgun frazis so i dont think having 24 fighters would be a bad thing. as for new fighters theres always my Tor'ith interceptor or dabosses To'Reth fighter bomber.
if it carried either of these you could probably lower the compliment to 20

As a Narn player, I rather like it! The Frazi and Gorith need more numbers to be an effective fighter force and the T'Rann doesn't really cut it as a carrier. Whilst I wouldn't mind seeing a better fighter, you need to be careful that the arms race doesn't escalate out of all proportion.

Dave

I knew I had seen some new fighter stats somewhere! i'll try to look em up and add them.

the cidikar beam is same range, but DD and boresight as opposed to TD and forward, so i'm happy with the beam

Interesting use of the ship. I like the model and in the Crusade era it is nice to have a reason to use most/all models in a faction.

New use for a bin'tak?

How about, sending them back to mongoose to be smelted, in return you receive a free G'Vrahn. No narn player, in their right mind, is going to over-look the G'Vrahn where scenario and level permits a large ship. I'd also rather have two G'vrahn over a Ka'bin'tak.

Updated ship... now with added fighter bomber!....

The new Narn fighter Bomber was bereft of a carrier, and so the Den'Lar was fitted with a mix of the reliable Gorith interceptor, and the To'reth fighter bomber. Whilst not as advanced as a Poseidon, or even the Cidikar, the Den'Lar retains the formidable armour of a Bin'tak.

To’Reth Fighter Bomber Flight Patrol (3 flights per Wing)

A wartime development, the To’Reth is a step forward in Narn fighter craft, its engines having been tailored to provide superior manoeuvrability and survivability in dogfights. Its array of weapons include an under slung ion torpedo mount which can prove a nasty shock to unwary captains.
