hey guys I was trying to find out what is comming for the Vorlans in P&P but I can't seem to find it. can someone five me the rundown. Thanks!!
 
they get two new ships

a very useful Raid level ship to fill their gap in the PL.

they also get a worthless Armegdeddon level dreadnought that no-one seems to think is worth including or if it is it should be at Ancient level (with a Shadow Ship to match)

no Scout or Carrier thus far

there is a special order which increases regeneration but sends you adrift for the turn without firing - prob most useful on biger ships and/or ships which are already adrift / no firing this turn/no targets

This is a new Special Action available only to Vorlon ships.
Crew Quality Check: 9
Effect: By internalising the electrical field generated by all Vorlon craft, the ship is able repair and grow vast amounts of bio-matter in the space of just a few minutes. This is taxing to the organic systems of the ship, but can bring one back from the brink of death. If the Crew Quality check is successful, this ship will double the Damage repaired by its Self-Repair trait in the End Phase. However, while it regenerates, it cannot make any attacks, and will be Adrift.
 
bit of a weird one, we know the playtesters and matt peruse the boards, and the vorlons have been crying out for a carrier for ages, so they give them a pretty pointless armageddon ship, don't really understand it myself

No one else does either. The raid ship appears to be, quite literally, two Transports fused together. Why use it if it's no better? Take two Transports and have two hulls to spread damage across.
 
Well Ldtd that is the standard the game is stuck with right now. Two ship of lower pl are always better than one of a pl above... if anything the fact that the vorlons got something that is the same as two of a pl below puts them about 10% above most races.

I don't think that is right, just the way it is, and how they balanced the game.

Vorlons are probably the easiest race to balance across the priorities - the ships only have one gun, the race only has two guns, they don't have any variation in hull, traits etc.

The Vorlon frigate had to fit between the transport and the destoyer. Too good, and why take the destroyer, too weak and why take it at all.

It was intended to fill a gap in the Vorlon fleet, but since the FAP splits are changing and spliting points down is easier, there may not be much use for it at all.
 
It still can be useful though.

If the priority splits do change to this:
1:1 equal
1:2 1 level below
1:3 2 levels below

In a Battle level scenario why take 3 Transports when you can take a Frigate and 2 Transports (if the breakdowns are like I remember them). Same number of ships but you get better firepower out of one of them.
