That said, even livestock-based agriculture has seasons through the year, at least lower tech ones.
I didn't doubt they'd have seaonal based holidays, but that those seasons and reasons could be much different than ours. Say instead of a "Harvest Festival" celebrating the harvesting of the crops, it would be a "Slaughter Festival", celebrating the thinning of the herds. So let me elaborate.
Even here on Earth, humans have a lot of variance in regional holidays - every country, state/territory, etc has their own little celebrations. But there are some underlying themes that are often found here even among cultures who's celebrations are vastly different from each other - celbration of a birth, celebration/mourning of a death, celebration of the harvest time, observance of the soltices, equinoxes and eclipses, etc.
Some of those themes, like birth & death are going to be common for both Vargr and Humans alike, though the observances may vary widely. Others, like the soltice/equinox/eclipse, are obviously going to vary from world to world, even when the worlds in question have the same race(s) populating them. But other themes, like the aforementioned harvest time may be much different.
The only one that comes to mind for me right now is harvest time. But then I'm not really a dog person, nor a cultural anthropologist, nor even someone with much interest in either. But I am wondering if there are other things that could be different underlying themes to Vargr holidays.
I just had this thought - if the Vargr have always known they were uplifted, perhaps they would have some sort of "uplift day" holiday theme.
