432 "Bulldog" APC

Watchdog

Mongoose
With the BE timeline set 10-15 years from now, I can still see the old 1950's designed 432 APC still serving with the British Army:

This APC has yet again been updated and upgraded for deployment to Iraq and Afganistan, with new transmission, engine and has been uparmoured, I myself have some good and bad memories of the vehicle, I would like to see Mongoose produce this Vehicle for BE.

Would anyone else like to see this vehicle produced.

Cheers

Have a Good Christmas and a even better New Year !!

The 432 will still be running in 15 years time, almost no doubt.

Isn't "Trojan" the formal name of the '432?

similiar to the US M113... which has been refitted for duty in Iraq. Saw fields of the things in B-dad in some motor pool. All up-armored and refitted, and not going anywhere.

I think the new engineer vehicle are Titan and Trojan, the "Bulldog" I had a cabby in a few months ago, moves like greased weasel S**t, but the rides still a bit bumpy, the verson I saw had a nice .50 Cal defence weapon (so pc), better than the jimpy, the new slat armour is 100% better than it was, mine years ago had a about 2-3 inches of paint armour due to the many many times it was re-painted.

I did read once in JANE's, I think it was that due to cut backs the new Warrior, would be issued with out a turret to just make it a weaponless Battle Taxi.

I think there will be a lot of other countries just upgrading what they currenty have, but you can only upgrade so much,

Warrior will be going through an upgrade programme shortly (40mm Case Telescoped ammo gun is on the cards).

The new engineer vehicles are indeed Titan and Trojan (coincidentally I just spoke to my chum in the project team that is procuring them).

This does raise a slight anomaly in that he also confirmed that the FV432 was also called the Trojan, but noted that it was only a minor one because no-one ever calls them by their proper name anyway :)

Are Titan and Trojan names of American contraceptives as well ?

Both Vehicles have gleaming reports so far, from the trials units down in Bovy, perhaps there could be "BE" Engineer's coming out sometime.

The FV-432 was named Trojan but the name was never used. MOD have issued a contract for up-armoured FV-432's armed with a 50 cal and new armour package 50 have been ordered. I cannot see GKN building turretless Warriors when there are hundreds of FV-432's in storage nd MOD have ordered Couger and Pinzgauer armoured trucks to replace Saxon.
