Hello all,
1st edition HG PDF Capital Ship Design Example p. 70 Step 4 Command appears to not have been completely updated
Going through 1e HG PDF I think that the cost for the 1e HG PDF Command modules is MCr.1 is supposed to be MCr0.1 based on the Bridge cost on p. 70 in the Step 4 - Command Summary So Far table and the Traveller High Guard Errata
The design example has 4 sections x 0.5% x 75,000 = 2% x 75,000 = 1,500 tons if the MCr150 is correct the command module/bridge MCr per ton = 150/1,500 = MCr0.1.
1e HG PDF p. 70 Step 4 Command Summary So Far table
Bridge 1,500 tons costs MCr150 checks
The Command Bridge rules are on 1e HG PDF p. 44
The capital ship design example has 4 sections which means that the command bridge is 80 x 4 = 320 tons.
I'm not sure that a capital ship bridge costs 50% more than a capital ship bridge, in the original example the capital ship's bridge costs 1,500 x.5 = MCr750. The Command Bridge cost is 1,500 + 750 = MCr2,250.
If the 1e HG PDF Capital Ship's bridge cost is MCr150 and a capital ship's command bridge is 50% more then the command bridge cost is 150 + (150 x 0.5) = 150 + 75 = 225.
The example adds holographic controls to the bridge and command bridge from 1e HG PDF p. 45:
If the bridge is MCr150 and the Command Bridge is MCr225 the total cost of both bridges is 150 + 225 = 375 x .25 = MCr93.75
The cost for adding armored bulkheads is correct as shown in the Sep 4 Summary So Far Table.
Bridge cost MCr150 + Command Bridge Cost MCr225 + Holographic controls MCr93.75 + Armored bulkheads MCr36.4 = MCr505.15.
Unfortunately, the Traveller High Errata page used a total fuel tonnage of 37,500 when the actual fuel tonnage is 33,750 which means the Price using the Errata from Step 3 onward is not correct.
The Step 3 Price is 35,223.1875 + 505.15 = 35,728.3375 adjusted for the Command and holographic controls.
If I am on the right track Step 4 onward is out of whack for the Price. The Tons calculations up to Step 6 are correct as published without the Traveller High Guard Errata ruling.
I am using an Excel spreadsheet to check the numbers and so far the Price is not matching up with the original calculations.
Of course I could be wrong, but I really have nothing else to do to keep me out of trouble.

Page 70-72 In Step 4, the bridge should cost MCr 150 (the table is correct).
Command
A ship requires one command module per section. Each command module takes up 0.5% of the ship’s total tonnage and costs MCr.1 per ton of command module/bridge. One of these command modules must be designated the ship’s bridge, but they can all use any specialist bridge options.
The design example has 4 sections x 0.5% x 75,000 = 2% x 75,000 = 1,500 tons if the MCr150 is correct the command module/bridge MCr per ton = 150/1,500 = MCr0.1.

The Command Bridge rules are on 1e HG PDF p. 44
Command Bridge: A command bridge is intended for use by warships that will be coordinating the efforts of a squadron of other spacecraft. It incorporates a large–scale holographic display of fleet actions, enhanced communications and control electronics, and space for more command staff. A spacecraft command bridge takes up 80 tons, but gives a +1 DM to Tactics (naval tactics) checks. A command bridge costs 50% more than a conventional bridge of the same size. Capital ship command bridges take up 80 tons per section of ship and located in a single location (which may be separate from the main bridge).
Holographic Controls: This bridge design incorporates advanced interactive holographic displays, reconfiguring itself to adapt to the current situation. A bridge with holographic controls is always optimised, and gives a +2 bonus when rolling for Initiative. A holographic bridge adds 25% to the cost of the bridge.
