1E Dilgar fleet help

Tankdriver

Banded Mongoose
I may get the chance to play one more game of Babylon 5 before we switch to 2E, if we make the switch that is, and I wanted to try out the Dilgar. It will be a massive 5 Priority Level War Fleet Allocation Point battle, simply a good smash up. I am planning to use the faster elements as the main point of attack driving them to the big ship for close range destruction, meanwhile, the carriers stand back and launch waves of fighters.
Here is my fleet as of right now, any comments would be helpful.

The word you are looking for is Targrath. You need many, many, many Targraths. And, as your War hulls are very poor, stay away from them.

Jashakars are very, very useful, but they tend to go up like fireflies. You need more than 2 here.

Because of the Armageddon breakdowns, I would suggest the following:

1st Point:

1 Tikrit
1 Targrath
1 Omelos
2 Jashakar

2nd Point:

1 Tikrit
1 Targrath
1 Omelos
2 Jashakar

3rd Point:
1 Garasoch
1 Targrath
2 Ochliavita

4th Point:
2 Targraths
2 Omelos

5th Point:
2 Targraths
2 Omelos

Net you get from this is:
2 Tikrit
1 Garasoch
7 Targrath
6 Omelos
2 Ochliavita
4 Jashakar

The berserker mode (which ignores all enemy fighters) would swap the Garasoch for yet 2 more Targraths. At this point, the fleet is getting sick.
Also, if you feel the need to establish a watchdog for the Garasoch and Jashakar, you could swap a Targrath or 2 Omelos for a Rohrik or two, but I'd try to keep my Targrath count as high as possible.

Nasty fleet! There are 148 Bolters and 52 Disruption Torpedoes in the fleet above (granted, some bolters are A arc). Extremely deadly.

If you feel the above is cheesy (and it could well be), swap 2-3 Targraths for Rohrics, but you'll need to open jump points to get them to the battle in some scenarios, and they'll be all but useless in Annihiliation with its 36" start deployment range.

As someone who has faced the Dilgar many times I can honestly say Czushlag fleet selection scares the hell out of me. It a very fast maneuverable fleet with tons of DD firepower. That said I dont really believe his fleet selections are cheesy, its a very powerful build but by no means unbeatable.

I agree to, the best thing an opponent could see on the table is a Dilgar War choice because they are weaker then most War choices, and that means that there are less Raid choices on the table (meaning Targraths)

Rhorics while slow are good ships too, slighter tougher overall then Targraths (hull 6 vs hull 5) With better all around firepower, very slow but with 2 turns its actually very maneuverable once it gets into combat.

Also if you intend to use pentacons I would recommend breaking apart the Targraths into seperate squads. The damage potential of a Targrath, with all those attack dice, is highly variable especially when you factor in Masters of Destruction. I saw one battle where a squad of Targraths targetted one ship (it was a Minbari ship and he wanted to be sure to break the stealth at least once), the first shot broke through the stealth and incinerated the Minbari ship(6-6 crit at Triple Damage), leaving the remaining Targraths sitting there doing nothing for the rest of the turn. True it was a lucky shot but with that much firepower available you want to be sure you can take advantage of it every turn.

The Omelos provide pretty good all around protection, but to be honest the carriers themselves will be the least of your opponents concerns, if he is wasting firepower going after the carrier that less firepower he is using on your Targraths and that will probably be his undoing. You simply cannot ignore the Targraths or your dead.
