This thread is based on the supply catalog that came with the September Revision.
After a quick read of Heavy Weaponry I've noticed a few errors/inconsistencies so I've made this thread for us to compile suggestions and discuss balance for the Heavy Weaponry chapter.
Man Portable Weaponry section:
Anti-Material Rifle and Disposable Plasma Launcher: These weapons are five Tech Levels apart but they do the same damage and the AMR is superior in range, cost efficacy and armour piercing ability. I assume that the AMR fires either a 20mm or 12.7mm round based on its tech level, this round doing the same damage as an "80 mm rocket-propelled directed plasma warhead" makes me think there's an error somewhere, perhaps the DPL was supposed to be vehicle damage scale? However if this was the case then it would likely one hit kill any vehicle in the rulebook which may be intended based on its description.
Rapid-Fire Machinegun: The description of this weapon mentions doubling the Auto score in exchange for two rounds of cooling, but in the stat line it's listed as "Auto 4 (6)".
Vehicle Weapons section:
At the start of the section it says that ranges are listed in kilometers but then the Heavy Machinegun and the Vulcan Machinegun use ranges in meters.
Heavy Machinegun and Light Autocannon: These weapons are both described as filling similar roles, they share a weight, tech level, damage (1D Vehicle Scale) and auto rating. Perhaps the weapons could be merged as they seem to be extremely similar, or the HMG could be disallowed from using the variant ammunition types as well as the LA receiving a buff in dmg/ap/traits. The weight of the HMG is also huge, over 5x the weight of a real life analogue.
Heavy Machinegun and Anti-Material Rifle
Assuming the 600 range for the HMG refers to meters then it can shoot 100m further than the AMR that's earlier in the chapter, it doesn't seem right that an HMG can outrange a dedicated sniping weapon that would use the same or similar caliber (assuming so based on them doing the same damage, one being 1DD Traveller scale and the other doing 1D Vehicle scale). I know the scope makes it easier for the AMR to score a hit but the round still doesn't travel as far.
