1 Point Raid - Centauri Ships - What would you choose?

I am putting together a Centauri fleet and I have 1 point of Raid left to spend.

Should I choose 2 x Morgrath's or 2 x Vorchat's?

Your comments on the pro's and con's of each would be appreciated,

You're better off with a Maximus

I would say choose something else completely! But between your two choices the Vorchat is better....for now....

If you're thinking long-term then unless you need more Vorchans the Morgrath is the better choice

Given my Sig my advice is clear - however I have used the Vorchat (the fighter is useful) and found it Ok (at best) but am afraid that it would not be first choice.............I try have to have at least one Vorchan ship in my campaign fleets - cos it looks so nice

Sadly Vorchans in 1st Ed are not the best ships - could be worse - granted but there are better choices.

I'd agree with most of the others about 1st ed. versions - the Vorchat is a reasonable ship but the Maximus is probably better.

2nd ed. though, the Vorchan becomes fearsome and the Morgrath whilst completely different is still a competative choice for a slot in your fleet.

Alright then, you have 1 point of raid to spend on Centauri ships, what would people choose?

I agree the Prefect is a lovely ship, but I would like a choice. :roll:

it really depends on what you already have Digger. It'd be good to fill a niche in your fleet.
And with 2nd ed coming soon you don't want to pick solely based on 1st ed (eg Prefect) when some such ships are going the way of the dinosaurs.

And 1 Raid point left over.

4 Raid points, smells like Open Day

Maximus and 2x Corvan would be mine.

I tried that combo Burger and got my head handed to me by a League fleet, so I was thinking of some alternatives? :x

I used a Primus, Sulust, Centurion and Altarian at Gaelcon and did very well.
So if you want more firepower go for a Prefect/Centurion/Dargan/Magnus

Alternatively take the Altarian for a support ship to stop you being flanked

The only skirmish level ship I'd recommend is the Maximus

I'd choose a Chronos... I knwo it's a different fleet, but it's my favouritest raid ship ever... well apart from the higly broken first version dag-Kar.

hehe I too would choose a Chronos, but If I had to choose a silly flambouyant fan head ship Id take either 2 Maximus or a second Sullust.

Frankly Id be more likely to take 2 Vorchans though, sure theyre not very good but they look cool and theyre damn fast . And really a Primus escorted by Vorchans is about as iconic as it gets for a Centauri fleet

Elutarian Bombardment Destroyer I like....but it doesn't complement the rest of your beam team.

I suspect that with 2 heavy-weight battle-laser wielders on the board, a pair of corvans would be worth it...which, as burger notes, means probably a kutai wink ......err....maximus in support

I find that the scouts really don't help as much as another proper warship.

If he is choosing for a tournament then Vorchans really aren't the best choice unfortunately.

True enough but personally, when I got a tourney I got primarily to have a laugh and play games with people I dont regularly play against, not out and out to win

aye that was my other suggestion earlier. Sullust are NASTY and noone wants to be on the revieving end of 14AD of battle laser....
