I'm excited to read this. I'm currently planning out a campaign in the Rifts sector, and trying to figure out the best way to handle starship costs without needing a spreadsheet (I do enough of that at work!).
Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll probably buy The Great Rift PDF set, and see what clusters of worlds there are that inspire me. I'll also look up Islands in the Rift.
I just bought the Bundle of Holding, so that was good timing :)
I am considering running a game of Traveller with my regular gaming group (who have all moved online now - allowing us to include members that have moved away). One person has been running D&D for the last 9+ months, and another is ready to run Call of Cthulhu (Berlin).
I'd like to offer...
Sorry, I'm still not clear what you mean.
I bought a copy of the CRB 2nd Edition in PDF format. Earlier this year it got updated with some revisions. I received those for free by simply re-downloading the PDF.
In order to receive the 2022 revisions, will I:
a) receive them for free, like I...
Will the current CRB PDF continue to be updated with the 2022 revisions, or will it be frozen as it is, and there be a new CRB2022 PDF which would require purchasing if we wanted the 2022 revisions?

Part of me is curious to understand what you mean by it being more like a boardgame - and part of me is thinking that this is just way off topic, and I don't want derail it any further :)
Speaking of the Millennium Falcon ops manual...
Apologies for picking out just this one comment, but we didn't experience this - when we played FFG Star Wars it felt just like most other RPGs we have played (and we have played quite a few games since the early 80's).
Interoperability. Do some research into this. You want all of your major components to be able to talk to each other. Character generators should be able to output something like XML files which can be read by the campaign manager, etc. It is much easier to integrate everything if you use a...
Very wise words.
The architecture should be as open and standard as possible - java, xml, etc. - and interfaces well defined and documented so that it is easy for third parties to hook in.
A simple example - the data representing a character should be defined in an XSD. This would allow...
Absolutely! I'm sure I'm not the only one that wrote programs and spreadsheets to create starships and guns for different versions of Traveller over the years.
I actually thought your license didn't include software, but I must have been mixing you up with another company (maybe FFG/Star Wars)?
