Zhodani in March

Perhaps, though it's unlikely to be the same reason Alien Module 3: Darrians was delayed so much.

Though it'd be great if that were the case. (If there's a delay it should be that one.)

FINALLY, a new Sector for the OTU. Ziafrplians Sector and a true Zhodani Sector.

It will be interesting to see how many of the new Psion talents are included in this book.

THIS ONE I am really looking forward to!

Viewed with fear by other races, the Zhodani are believed to harbour powerful psionics within a terrible and oppressive society. Alien Module 4: Zhodani peels back the layers of mystery and mis-information to reveal a fascinating race who are a domineering force in their region of the galaxy.

This book is packed with information for both players and referees. New rules for careers allow players to create their own Zhodani characters, which are then well served by technology and ships designed by and for the Zhodani. Chapters are devoted to playing a Zhodani and how their society and culture are structured, complete with how they handle psionics. Finally, we have also included a complete new sector to explore, meshing seamlessly with the Spinward Marches.

Pre-ordered.

I've always wanted to do a Traveller campaign from the side of the Zhodani. I really like the alien module format, but I wonder if there might be too much information to fit into just one book. Will there be an equivalent of Sector Fleet for Zhodani military or some Zhodani-specific adventures? I'd love to see them expanded out of their generic villain role.

What I personally wouldn't mind seeing, up and beyond what you mentioned would be more information, in this book or even a second suppliment on the core expeditions. That has always facinated me. I'd love to see what minor races they have found, (or if someone dares to add a seventh one, a new major close to the core...), see if there's other fallen ancient empires other then "The Ancients" out there closer to the core and so forth.

I'll probably buy two copies of this one. Been wanting this for a very, very long time. I have never been satisfied with what has come out before, but judging by the other alien books I will be this time.

The best part of this is Don is writing this...hopefully there will be a follow-up with Solomani by Don or Pete, as I thought he took the original tweaked and made it work much better than the original AM. Hope Don can pull the same rabbit out of the proverbal hat...and if he needs the manuscript vetted...Berka and I would surely love to do this...

Keep up the excellent artwork that was found in Darrians and we got another winner.

I can confirm that the book is on its way, developing nicely and looks good so far.

We should all keep in mind that the Zhodani are a pretty pivotal race in the 3I setting, and so doing it right will be important. Thus, I'm more than happy to see it come out when it's good and ready.

Never used the Zhodani in all my years of Traveller gaming, is it worth getting into them now? They have always seemed a little too, I don't know, difficult and perhaps complex to roleplay. I don't know how Zhodani merchants will act or appear, or their patrol ships, or the way in which an ambassador might appear.

I want I suppose broad brush strokes with which I can easily summarize and then describe these aliens to my players.

I find Vargr easy.

Aslan I'm always afraid of the same... they are complex, and I am afraid I can't adequately give a thumbnail impression of aslan in a game as the players briefly meet a member of the race.

I like the Zhodani visuals, I can see them distinctly in my mind's eye, but I do need help making their encounters 'interesting' and 'alien'.

EDIT: and 'cool'

Which is why I desperately need to get my hands on the book.
