What You See Is What You Get ... I am normally pretty fanatic about this point but I have one problem... I am one carbine short on my combat engineers, I have a guy with a Garand.

Anyone know of a way to get around this? I can order a new hand from www.victoryforce.com but the shipping would be more than the hand itself! I simply screwed up when I placed the order, and forgot to get enough Carbines

Aside from emailing them and appealing to their sense of compassion to send a single hand without charging me $5 for shipping I could just leave it... I mean you didn't get kicked out of the Combat Engineer club if you didn't carry a carbine, right?

Is there anything wrong with having an M1 Garand instead? Would there be a fair points cost or is it an even exchange?

I think the number of units that actually carried exactly the weapons their TO&E provided for can be counted on one hand, for the entire US army.

Men scrounge, steal, borrow, loot and acquire weapons all the time. Plenty of infantrymen acquired a carbine.. or an MP40 and used it while they had ammo for it.
Quite a few enterprising GI's found a use for captured Panzerfaust rockets, trucks and a few Panzers.

Just use your rifle-guy and don't worry about it.

That would be a really, really cool bit of info - stories of using captured equipment. Anyone have a resource for this?

Hmm... neat house rule, too... I know the Soviets used captured German stuff extensively, and vice versa in Stalingrad and the Eastern Front where supplies were scarce.

The Germans were also very happy to use captured russian tanks (the T34 was notably superior to their own kit early on, as were some russian AT guns which were bodged onto panzer chassis). The DAK were notorious for recovering the many many abandoned/damaged allied tanks and putting them to use due to their own lack of fresh tanks from germany.

I wouldn't worry about it you can either use the weapon as per model or just say its the one listed. My new British Sniper teams have smg's for the spotter but the rules say it should be rifles - I'll use them as the model shows, especially as one has an MP40 :?

Conversly, all the command squad officers have smg's my models have pistols - so I count these as SMG's.
