WTB narn fleet carrier

U know i would love to see a Nan ship with fleet carrier at some point in the future.... even if it was unique...

I know the narn aren't a fighter fleet, but say a g'qaun varrient...

anti fighter 2, fleet carrier, carrier 1, lumbering
4 frazi flights speed 4 1/45 turn troops 6 in service 2280+
55/13 hull and 75/20 crew

heavy laser cannon 30 b 4 beam double damage
no energy mines
other weapons -3 ad
 
their is a BinTak variant (unique) that i statted, mixed reactions, most people seemed to like it, but felt it just wasn't right for the Narn. this was Matts view when i mentioned it to him as well.
 
A fleet carrier for the Narn is IMHO not a good idea. They have e-mines to clear enemy fighters, not masses of their own. They just don't need the boost to their own fighters that a fleet carrier would bring.
 
What's the use of 4 fighters - When the T'Rann has 10 and has Carrier 2 Trait - Isn't that what you are after.

Why not ask for the FC trait to be a refit option instead and then upgrade your T'Rann?

however as soon as the Narn start working with the ISA, do you think those Whitestar captains would be happy with e-mines flying about!

In regards to only 4 fighters and why not take a T'Rann 1 I hate the model 2 it's not a fleet carrier...

The G'Quan i went with because it's a classic narn ship, it would still pack a lot of firepower while not having a big fighter complment hence 4 it obviously wouldn't want any emines to wipe itself out, and it seems like a very weak counter to fill a role that they do lack... and the narn despite thier fighters not being there main force... would i think want some kind of recoery system set up... (kinda like Grmans in ww2) I see them as while the Grmans never actually launched a carrier, they did work on one the graff zepplin just never got it launched, and i'd see the narn following a Jap style of converting battleships into fleet carriers.

I could see the ship as being Unique like the bin'tak from the other thread but i think that's a bit of a large jump in fleet ideals (don't get me wrong i like it but i think it's the wrong chassis)....


I think this would be how the Narn would build one arround thier fighters as well anyway, drives straight into the middle of the enemy then dumps it's fighters and stays in close giving it's support, kinda like a drone swarm to support it's guns...

A fleet carrier wth only 4 flights is a bit pathetic. How can it expect to recover and co-ordinate repairs to potentially hundreds of fighters, when its bays only hold 4 of their own?

A fleet carrier doesn't really fit into the Narn "do or die" philosophy anyway. A scattered flight of damaged Frazi is much more likely to carry on attacking solo, than regroup at a fleet carrier.

But if you must have one, Digger is right, a T'Rann variant is much more appropriate than a G'Quan.
