Will there be Unit Cards for BF:E World at War?

Shadow4ce

Mongoose
Perhaps someone already asked this and had it answered previously, in which case my "Search-Fu" must be weak.

I want to know if MGP will be producing a pack of Unit Cards for the various WWII factions for the Battlefield Evolution: World at War?

While we are on the topic, please also tell me there will be a Pacific Campaign as well. I feel the war between the Japanese and the Allies was a very important and fascinating part of WWII which is oftimes overlooked in the gaming community.

If you ask nicely and pay $$$ for it. ;)
Ah, a very good "semi" official answer.

Perhaps Matt or Old Bear could give us a "firm" official answer.

I think I speak for all of us when I say we shall ask nicely and pay $$$ for these.

In the rulebook the units will appear as a proper army list. At this stage there are no plans to release specific unit cards separate to the game.

Putting them in S&P will be a win - no development cost - useful support material - additional visibility to Mongoose players that haven't come on board yet

Cards in S&P will be a win-win

Agrees 100%
Cards are better (even if i have to print them just to pages) rather than having to pass a Rulebook around my friends for all the Stats.

I personally feel unit cards are one of the greatest strengths of Battlefield Evolution. It added an incredible amount of flexibility and expansion potential to the game, as well as ease of access to the rules. The biggest problem I had with SSTv1 was having to search through five different books to play a game. With BF:Evo I was able to simply have the one rulebook handy and keep a couple of cards with me.

I absolutely agree.
It just felt right having cards as a gamer.
Once you start using them you wonder why other game systems don't have them.
It would be a HUGE mistake not to keep producing them for future Evo projects.

We are not planning on doing cards ourselves - but if we go ahead with the Open Content nature of the game, it sounds like a good opportunity for a third party to produce some and make a few bob :)

Now THAT's a subtle hint....

MWAHAHAHAHA, lucky for me I've got framework in place, and a Canadian on standby (as well as an Aussie and two fellow Yanks... now I need a Kraut and maaaaybe someone from Japan..)

So I can have someone take pictures of Germany. I was born in Frankfurt after all. ;)

And sometimes you're called that still.

A real good opportunity. I've seen a competitor's cards which were just printed ahead of their army books and pre-painted minis for folks who want to use the non-prepainted ones already available or who want to proxy until the official minis are released.

The cards sell for $10-12 US for a pack of 40+ cards. They really provide a lot of bang for the buck, and add a lot to the game.

I think there would be a huge market for quality produced card packs for the major countries at least...
  • England
  • Gemany
  • Russia
  • America
  • Japan
  • Italy
  • Canada
  • Australia
  • Et al.
