Will the "new" Battlefield Evolution be pre-painte

Are there going to be deals with a miniatures company for Modern Combat, just like there is for World at War?

Well. . .

We have been approached by a number of companies. So it is possible.

On the other hand, we are still considering an Open Content game for BF Evo and _if_ we go ahead with that, we may make an open licence for miniatures as well, so anyone can use the logo to indicate compatibility.

Need to work out all the implications, but it is an intriguing idea. . .

Dude...CHEAT! Use the primer and do as little as possible. If it lives up to 'Hey, this looks good at the distance I'm looking at on the game table', then it's perfect.

If I want to skimp on painting quality, there are... competing games with a larger player base to get into. I like the BFE rules better, but 1 occasional opponent vs. 20 regulars? I know how that's going to turn out.

True, I mean, you have all those Star Wars nerds to play against....

What, you don't have hordes of people playing the Primer Company of the Space Angel Blood Wolves Chapter where you live? :) Take away the pre-painted option, and that becomes the competition.

Although I suppose you could drop out of miniature production altogether (done), and then you're publishing rules for use with anyone's models. That's also a crowded field, but there is breathing space at least. I think the Open Content idea is great, btw: it allows casting companies to make minis, and Mongoose to make rules. Everyone plays to their strengths, everyone wins (hopefully).

Remember, YOU were the only company that provided us with near future models such as the SHADOW RSTV and Land Warrior equiped Marines. So existing models from other companies just won't be enough in the long run. I hope whatever miniatures company approches you is able to provide us with the near future stuff as well as decent modern miniatures.

So? After all suggestions there are really some miniature-makers out there to jump into the breach? Good news. I believe I have recently spoken with one of them

Perhaps working with another miniatures company to make the minis for this game would work. As mentioned, you guys made all the near-future vehicles and stuff that other companies won't. Perhaps that is the route that shoul dbe followed.
