My group didn't pre-reg for anything, so we'll be buying generic tickets onsite now. I hope to drag 1 or 2 of them into a demo game if it is with the new rules.
I was talking to a group of my friends who went to GenCon and I asked if Mongoose Publishing was there. They told me that they had a booth, but it was very lackluster at best. They had some B5 and Conan stuff, but compared to the other companies, they had a very poor showing.
I'm a huge supporter of Mongoose's games, but I find myself having to defend and justify them to my gaming group. I fully expected my friends to return with stories of playing ACTA and to have a bunch of fleet boxes with them. But they said that nobody was playing while they were there.
There was demo tables right out front of the booth with BFE and ACTA with displays of Minis for both games and Starship troopers. Yes they booth was not as nice as say Wizkids or Wizards of the Coast but they are a smaller market than companies (Imho mongoose has alot better games than those two)
