Who is considering writing under the OGL?

May be.
Still doesn't mean we can't do it for our group.

In addition it could be made legal by releasing it via S&P (a thing we always kept in mind) - if Mongoose at all plans to keep the SST license and not kill the game entirely. And if they still care for (and are willing to benefit from) people spending time for improving their game systems.
If not, well, then it's just for our own fun.

You have to be careful about that kind of thing too as we can mean well, but get other companies into huge trouble.

I also just had an idea. I play Panzerfauste, but the rules are horrible for huge games (wonderful for small games), so I may create some very simple rules for Panzerfauste Mass Battle games. Wouldn't be too hard really and I'm sure there would be the support from their group and if uploaded for free somewhere, it could really help Wessex Game's sales. Steve, who runs WG, is a very nice guy. Unfortunately, he has been planning to write mass battle rules, but has never been able to do it for various reasons. So until then, this would be great.

I could really make a nice publication.

Might have to tweak some of the original rules, like unit command losses. Urgh, that was annoying. Perhaps create a priority phase, where each unit declares what it will do on a piece of paper in private, then roll the initiative to see which units go when and alternate. Then after that the units perform these actions. However, if their unit leader dies there is a modifier to initiative roll. I just hate the out of command rules.

Hmmm, may require a *little* thinking.
I will try though! :)

I'd have to get Steve Blease's permission to do anything with it, let alone put it into S&P!
Would be great if it was possible, but it would probably be quite long! :? :?
