Wow. Are many of these voting with no knowledge of what older versions are like, or am I just getting old and out of touch? Completely.

How very depressing.

I suspect the answer is yes.

I agree. So abstain, like me. :?

But I like both of them better than MRQ. I can go from RQ2 to RQ3 and back fairly easily and painlessly.

I agree, the choices seem to be chosen to split the pre-MRQ vote. Abstaining rather than choosing to vote between 2 or 3 is almost a vote for MRQ. The poll was MRQ vs RQ 2/3, and you would have voted for RQ 2/3, you should choose one of those and vote for it.

OK, so I voted for RQ2. At least MRQ is better than 3.5 D20. At this point I am not sure just how much that is saying, though.

Have you read the Second Age Ralios PDF yet?

We could just sum up the pre-MRQ vs the MRQ results, but I don't think we can really get a goood poll on this anyway. Like I said in the thread that led to this poll, not to meny anti-MRQers have a habit of hanging around here to chat and take polls. I think most of the people here are pro MRQ and/or pro Mongoose, so we will see a definate bias.
Prettyy much what we will se is that MOngoose/MRQ fans will prefer it to earlier games. It's sort of like going to a band's fanclub and asking people to name their favorite band.

Told you.

I wish you had made it to include Stormbringer, though. I'd be kind of interested to see how that impresses people compared with RQ in general. It being a sort of trimmed down version of the same rules.

But if we do that we have to include WOW, Call of C'Thulhu, Ring World, and all the others that RQ Inspired!

It would get too messy Lol!

At least it would show the comparision how many people like BRP instead of plain RQ2/3. Both RQ incarnations has not been the holy grail for many people, while BRP has been. :)

The question is not about the source material. Its about systems. :)

Actually, I didn't see a question at all, more of a statement. :)

I was just throwing that out there because andakitty doesn't post that much anymore and I had in the past expressed an interest in the source material after coming down against the rules - which is funny if you go way back on the boards andakitty was one of the bigger pro MRQ voices out there - until the release of the game.

I prefer the older rules overall, but really like the new source material so far. If the source material sucked I would probably give up on the rules and just get what I don't have of the Moon Design stuff.

I believe he was reffering to the question of the thread-What version of RQ is your favorite.

I was a lot more pro-MRQ too, a long time ago. It would be hard for kitty to post much about the source material considering that there isn't that much of it yet.

I for one, haven't seen one MRQ sourcebook that I have liked. I haven't seen one that I don't like either. In fact, I haven't seen a MRQ sourcebook. When I see one in the store, I'll flip through it and see if I want to pick it up. Until then, I have no idea what the sourecebooks are like.

Because many people play their own variation of RQ2 or RQ3 (maybe soon MRQ) I would include an option like "homebrewn version of RQx" or so.

But the Poll is for OFFICIAL versions of RQ, not Slayers or the net "RQ4".

I think he means things like my RQ 2.5, where I took what I liked from 2 and 3 and made a version. Not folks who used the name.

Doh. My bad.

Can't a guy go off topic around here? It was not like a major threadjack attempt.

Well, the Ralios PDF is available, and I like it. 41 Pages that probably got cut from the Glorantha book. So it is available, and that is what I was asking about.

It is by Robin Laws, so it does not fall far from the Stafford tree so to speak.

Sure. I just didn't know if you were weanding off topic or if you had lost the topic. Next time leave a trail of breadcrumbs.

Yeah, and I think Hyrum's got two Diomin RQ products ready too. It is just that after the way I talked myself into pre-ordering the core book and the companion, I refuse to buy another RQ product "blind". RQ is no longer an automatic buy for me.

Pendragon's still got me hooked, though. I handed my credit card over to buy the Great Pendragon Campaign book before I even looked at the book or asked the price. It was, "Did you order this for someone? No? Mine!"

I don't beleive the topic has anything to do with Pendragon.

Actually, I love Pendragon, and the source material is among my favorite to read for pleasure.

Is it (The Great Pendragon Campaign) combined reprints of old material or is there a lot of new content?

I noticed a lone copy of Pendragon in our stock the other day... anyone want to sell me the idea of swiping it for myself? :)
