which book to reconcile me with MGT?

I would recommend either Tripwire or Aslan.

As for future books, Secrets of the Ancients next year will be the 'biggie' campaign.
Thanks for the comment. Indeed I was thinking Tripwire. I have been waiting for it anyway.

A new secrets of the Ancients sounds promising. I too hope you make a better plot, and maybe improve the secret.

Pardon my ingorance, but what is living Greyhawk?
I know LARPs, I know Greyhawk, and I think I've allready heard that expression, but I have no idea what it is.

I really hope you toss out everything that's already been done on the subject and start with something original...

This is, you understand, your chance to actually contribute to changing the OTU in your desired direction. You have some interesting ideas. Drop Matt a line about helping. It works for others of us.:)

I'm happy just making suggestions, thank you. I have no interest in actually doing anything to change the OTU anymore... I've been there, done that, and more often than not had to put up with extreme nerdrage and bad attitude in the process. So, no thanks.

The Living Greyhawk campaign is an immense game played out in regional events throughout the real world. The continent of the Flanaess in the game world is divided into several nations and political states. These nations are mapped onto sections of the real world. Your real world location determines the default home region for you and your characters in the game world. When you travel to different areas of the real world, your character journeys with you to the corresponding locales in the Flanaess. Each region has a special flavor setting it apart from other regions, allowing you to immerse yourself in the intrigues of you home region, or join the turmoil in other regions.

....when an academic is tired of nerdage (and bad attitude) , he is tired of life. Ah well.

I know how you feel. Aslan should do it for you. Get that book - good stuff.

Second is Tripwire - heck play the two together. Finally, Traveller can have Cyberpunk as a fringe element of the Third Inperiium - I did this with an adventure called:

"Space Nazis Must Die!"

The CSC book has lots of Cyberpunk stuff waiting for you to use.

Don't give up!

:D

I agree. Aslan. Cool race plus wonderful sector guide. How can you lose ?

That is the plan. . .

That is really interesting...I'm looking forward to this, although I wonder if I couldn't change what is eventually produced to make the Ancients something along the lines of the Cthulhu mythos, hehehe

Oh good :).

Can you put that in bold, big letters somewhere? I'd love to see the hysterics that start on CotI about this! ;)

Yeah, Finally Grandfather's lies will be known for all to see.

Bring it on Mongoose.

Take down Grandfather and his lies.

Happy Days are here again.
 :D :P

Being a charter member of the "grandfather lied" club, I can but applaud. Even just reinventing a mystery would be good.

I don't play much (at all ?!) but I go through my own 'Rotation' of games (sometimes so fast I think it's more of a Gyration!). Traveller is the one I keep coming back to though.

My suggestion is to indeed pick up Eclipse Phase. Then try something else, what about DnD (the 4th Ed is really quite nicely designed), or Exalted or World of Darnkess, or any of the umpteen hundred third party undie RPGs out there. I guarantee that you'll find something that will get the juices flowing again, and before long you'll be thinking 'how could I incorporate these ideas in to Traveller'… ;-)

Surely that must have been an freudian slip or were you thinking of some kind of Japanese manga panty-sniffing RPG? LOL
