Where in the vastness of space would you like a campaign set

Hello everyone,

I have been gaming/GMing Traveller for like 30+ years and most of that time my own campaigns have been set in the Verge Subsector. It is a remote place and off the main paths of developed stuff in all the past various setting/eras of Traveller, which game me a great chance to have a fresh clean slate to develope as I wanted. It would be cool to see a location like that developed for a long set of campaign locations and adventures.

Where have the rest of you all set your own campaigns or played mostly?

Most of my games were in the Spinward Marches and surroundings. Tried the Solomani Rim for a while, but I liked the Marches better.

I also spent a lot of time in an Alternate Traveller Universe (ATU).

Most players and GMs used both the Spinward Marches and Solomomani Rim because of the two source books that were published for those regions. I would love to see some other location developed!

The Gateway Domain (Trailing of Capital) is expanded in the T20 material. It is set in 993, during the Solomani Rim War. I have heard good things about it, but I do not own it.

I would like to see a TRUE frontier. As in unexplored, unsettled planets.

In the OTU with it's 5000 year history of interstellar travel by humans, there is not much room for that, but something that would allow exploration of areas where humans had not gone before would be nice too.

Perhaps something set at the Rimward edge of the Solomani Confederacy?

I have this setting in my resource library, and yes it is very nice. I also feel a true unexplored setting would be awesome as well too?

Uncharted space with little more than a location of stars.

My thought was a sector at the edge of explored space.

Subsectors A-D are settled, but with no colony over 100 years old.
Subsectors E-H are surveyed but only a few worlds have outposts on them.
The other half of the sector is unexplored.

You know star locations and GG presence, that's it. Who knows what lurks just beyond the horizon?

Actually this is a extremely good idea!

The MT Rebellion Era was full of places like this. The civilized cores, surrounded by a frontier trying to survive and keep out the bad guys, surrounded by a wild no-man's land. You know what WAS on each world, but it is anyone's guess what you will actually find if you go there.

One thing I would like to see done for Traveller, is when they detail out a main world that they take the time to come up with the total system(all orbits) and create a UWP for each. Heck if someone really wanted to pick a subsecter and detail out each system, now that would be awesome. Just think of all the details one could get.

I like the Julian Protectorate, was a little bored of the Spinward Marches and the Solomani Rim was far too civilised.

To be honest nowadays we like to play far to rimward (the name of the campaign) or out in the Far Frontiers or Reivers Deep for one offs.

I've always had bit of a soft spot for both the Solomani Rim (any era) and (Rebellion) Dagudushaag, although the latter was partially due to my involvement with HIWG UK and the Signal GK fanzine. Any ex-HIWG UKers around here?

I was in HIWG but in the US and was the Verge Subsector analist<VBG>!

PS: HIWG = History of the Imperium Working Group

I've mostly played in the Spinward Marches and a bit in Diaspora.

When I start a new game (as I'll probably do once the new version's in my grubby hands), I'll have a tough time deciding between the Marches, Diaspora, somewhere in the general vicinity of Core and the uncharted backwaters. They're all just so appealing!
