When did the MEA lose their Tunguskas?

Banded Mongoose
Had a game of MC yesterday with my brother and two young nephews, 2000pt MEA vs USMC.

As the MEA player I found it hard to assemble a force that could beat the USMC player, especially with no dedicated anti-air! His A10 was lord and master of the battlefield, trashing our precious T72's with ease and cluster bombing the Fedayeen and insurgen squeads left and right.

What happened to the MEA's Tunguskas? Did they park them somewhere and forget where? Did they loose the keys in the sand?

It's also hard to get enough quantity of units to bring pressure. with 2000 points I have a maximum of 4 command, 6 frontline and 6 special units. If I try to assemble an infantry platoon and a heavy platoon, I'm going to be hard pressed to get a good balance of units. Gov troops are OK, and hordes of Fedayeen are good, but I'm limited on support choices, especially since so many of the support options are only available as one model for one slot - Where are my three technicals per support choice?

I think the MEA desperatly need a boost.

Remember that every one of your Insurgent Squads can have up to 3 SA-18s. Not to mention that you could take a Mig-29 or two to deal with errant Warthogs.

No Middle Eastern country actually has the Tunguska (unless you count Morocco), perhaps that's why it's been dropped from the list.

Technicals are Frontline assets, not Support. You still only get 1 per slot, but if they had multiple vehicles per slot you might then have to deal with groups of much heavier armed HUMVEEs and Shadows etc. Infantry groups are better armed than before, with up to 4 Saxhorn-2 ATGMs for each Fedayeen squad.

Goverment troops could do with APCs and support weapons of their own, even attack helos and heavy artillery. You could always grab a few M113s from the US list or Warriors from the British list, add artillery from any, Supercobras and HUMVEEs from the US lists. All of those are present in current Middle-Eastern regular forces.

You might also like to take a look at the Evocommand website, it has player-made stats for most Russian equipment (most of which is in use by arab nations) and more complete army lists for most of the other armies.
