What we'd want (should mini production ever restart...)

M1ndr1d3rs

Mongoose
I know the debate is over, we cant save ACTA. But the future is uncertain, so we should let MGP know what we want (and ready to spend our money on) if ACTA minis somehow get revived in the future.

My wish list:
Babylon 4
TLT Vorchan
Valen (TLT)
G'kar
Drakh ships as seen on screen

I think the main problem is the amount of races...and even if it isn´t good (for the game that is) then the mini production would have to start with only the four mayor races(maybe Vorlon and Shadow too), cause I bet one problem they`ve had is the extend of different miniatures, and that they sell so darn unpredictably.

Dunno if it really would help to only produce the most popular races(mainly the four big ones), I just hope it would start someday again, as I just started play(few months).

All those different molds have to be expensive...

Fleet Action scale ships: less metal, easier to cast, more ships for less cost, easier to transport.

too late though. :(

The Icarus. Not a warship, I'd just like to own the model.

Narn, Centauri and other bases.

The Valen (either of them), and the TLT Vorchan.

The Minbari Rogata tug, and the original AoG versions of the Corumai and the Cidikar (howling for the moon there, don't I know it).

The EA Cotten-class tender, and the Narn Arscimus and Centauri Lias class transports.

(EDIT) The bad guys from 'A Voice in the Wilderness'.

A raider ship suitable for, well, raiding...

...all gone, like tears in the rain... :(

What I wish from MGP if they're going back to ACtA Minis?
Well, quality control. And this counts for the company as a whole. For their own sake.
After all, the lack of it brought them where they are now (thinking of this whole BF Evo mess...).

IIRC, metal models are not too expensive to produce. Certainly they are far cheaper than plastic.

If Mongoose were having problems breaking even on new ships then I doubt we would have seen new fleets like the Dilgar and Gaim.

I think the problems were supply and quality control. There were always posts of people complaining about excessive flash and even downright miscasts. The regulars here know enough to just contact customer services and arrange replacements but poorly cast ships do not make a good advert to new players. Also I am sure that replacing miscasts could get expensive if it was happening often enough.

Secondly, I suspect that a lot of the molds inherited from B5 wars were getting quite old and flaky. The Omega and Tinashi are both examples where you have to practically carve the ship out of the flash. :( Whilst producing new ships might be feasible, I suspect that the costs of replacing a large number of ex-B5W molds might be excessive. The new Hyperion looked promising but seems to have disappeared. Could they have done the same for all the iconic ships in the range? I have my doubts.

Lastly, there seemed to be real problems (at least in some parts) with actually getting the models in stock. We have never really found out what the problems with the distribution network were but ultimately if customers cannot buy the models in their local stores the game will inevitably suffer.

I would have liked to see a earth force one modal and proberly a good few other things that havent come to mind to.

Personal opinion here, as is the nature of any wish list.

A few more shadow and Vorlon ships, two and four models respectively just wasn't enough. Love the new size Vorlon transport by the way, just put my first ones together, and they are just sooooooo cuuuuute!!!!!!

The expanded Ipsha fleet, having used the warglobes, want more Ipsha ships.

Expanded fleets for the league races, who at the moment are typically doubling the number of ship designs with varients.

Triage performed on the molds, with new molds or masters being done for the most worn out molds. Not that I mind all that flash, the scrap value being what it is these days.

Well, as far as I heard the price of producing metal miniatures is more expensive then producing plastic, at least this is what I hear from the Warhammer community. No economist here so :)

It is only cheaper to produce plastic in massive quantities. The moulds for plastic miniatures are metal and therefore hugely expensive. Moulds for metal minis are rubber or similar and therefore much cheaper.

Not too crazy about PPP, but don't we want massive quantities? With some monster collectors lurkin around, mass production will probably be a good thing.

For the company it's another matter. Mass producing "minis that nobody wants"... now that's fatal. They'll have to do serious research before deciding a ship, in terms of viability in gaming and miniature attractiveness, is worth making.
