What rank would the leader hold

My players are toying with the idea of recruiting A Force of professional Ex Soldiers to form the main part of King Olebs far bigger and far more powerful personal Guard. What rank would you suggest my Pcs give the groups leader?

The main force is 1 and a 3rd Regiments of Light Marines made up of 1,200 Rank and File Marines, 120 Sergeants, 24 Lieutenants, 6 Captains and 3 Colonels type Marines

As A secondary Force theirs 2 and a quarter companies of Veteran Heavy Scouts Made up of 200 Rank and File, 20 Sergeants, 6 Lieutenants and 2 Captains

Theirs also 2 and a quarter companies of none combatants made up of 155 Accountants, 55 Medics, 17 Tacticians and 8 Doctors, all of who are Highly, highly professional and highly experienced Experts

Their is also 1 Platoon of both of Tanks and Aircraft in form of 4 Squads of 5 Cougar Battle Tanks all with 3 Crew and 4 squads of 5 Light Attack Aircraft all with 1 crew and 1 Squad of 3 5th hand Crusader Self-Propelled Guns that costs Cr 380,000 each and all have 3 crew

So that is the main part of King Olebs far bigger and far more powerful personal Guard. So what rank would you suggest for my Pcs give the groups leader?

1200 line personnel is about 2 battalions, so you'd have 2 Lt-colonels in charge of the battalions by modern standards, and a brigadier or brigadier-general in overall command.

Ooops just got A E-Mail saying that The Pcs have decided to add a couple of Million Cr of their own cash to fund well over another 1,000 more Royal Guards for Oleb. Does this change the rank The Leader of Olebs new and vastly enlarged Royal Guard will be granted?

Its A Force of 1,353 Light Marines, 1,145 Medium Riflemen, 228 Very Heavy Veteran Scouts, 20 Medium Tanks each with 3 crew, 20 Light Aircraft each with 1 crew, 3 5th hand artillery Pieces each with 3 crew and a assortment of 520 assorted none combat Civilian Helpers

So like I said does that change the rank The Leader of Olebs new and vastly enlarged Royal Guard will be granted?

It's also a theme that very occasionally someone (MJD in this case, and several others) gives a good, succinct answer to said rambling question. But suddenly, "NOPE! That info I gave was wrong, here's even more garbage to muddy the waters."

As you have been told several times (MJD again) play a scrappy crew of misfits on a broken down old free trader with more money on it's mortgage than it's worth. Ask questions about how much a patron should offer to run a ton of contraband two systems over, past a Navy Corvette that's been haunting the system. You'll get answers, real answers.

We can't get into your mindset to answer your questions JM...

It does get irritating when either the question is changed after someone has provided an answer or it is apparently ignored and another question that is difficucult to answer for the same reasons (which have been pointed out) appears a little later. It's like the answers aren't being read.

I dunno if our JMISBEST is that kid, but he’s definitely the same as this guy:
