What other figures would you like to have?

so would the Canadians be their own faction...or...part of the EFTF or U.S. faction?...
Their own faction. But 3-5 boxed sets ought to be close to enough to represent their whole army with an extra special edition one for their navy. ;)

If you're looking for civvies, I got just what you're looking for from both superfigs and from GZG. two VERY different scales, but it is nice to see a cubscout wander into a firefight every now and then.

find it very disturbing on how others are attacking a very professional military force. The Canadian military despite having not gone to Iraq have more then contributed their weight in gold to the War on Terrorism and effortst to pacify the Taliban in Afghanstan. You people would know that if you bothered to do any research. They might not have M1 Abrams but they are providing a significant armour presence in khandahar with with 15 leopards. Their Halifax class frigates can intergrate fully into a Carrier group with seamless effort. No other nation can do that. Why? Because they know what they are doing.

I would have hoped the mods would have stopped this before now...

Actually there are a few that can. :D

However, having worked with them for years I would never doubt the professsionalism of the Canadian Armed Forces. I know from ersonal experience that there are many of them who would like to be doing more, but they are of course restricted by limited budgets and a disfavourable view of the WOT amongst the general population.

After seeing quite a few posts of typical anti-American drivel left up, it should come as no surprise that this is allowed to stand. Don't take it too hard, I know I didn't.

its too bad either way....like i said in my premier post here it just shows people here have not bothered doing their research and havegone the typical route of hearsay.

I'm not casting doubt on their professionalism or capabilities either. My comment was relating to the governmental stranglehold over their budget that keeps them from developing into something great.
And last I had heard the Canadian Navy was not able to fufill it's NATO obligations because more ships were being decomissioned due to old age/maintenance issues than were being replaced. A truly sad state for what should be a proud Naval force.

And please, if you take umbrage with something someone states in a forum as such, ask for clarification of the statement as opposed to calling on moderators to censor someone - because you misinterpreted.

Last you heard(hearsay again)...well Ottawa is in the Gulf right now part of an US CVBG and Iroquois just got back from a naval deployment with SNMG1 as flagship. She has always sent ships when called upon by NATO. Huron was decommissioned due to the lack of personnel mainly and she never worked right apparently after her update back in the 90s. That has been the only ship laid up this decade and like every other navy the CF has different readiness cycles.

I don't need to ask for clarification as the posts were pretty plainly disrespectful.

lordraptor,, take it easy, everyone has their opinions and there will always be jokes about neighbouring countries armies...
i can't find any truly disrespectful posts about the canadians here..

So chill, It's only a game;)

HA!
good one.
maybe just an IOU for the naval contribution to NATO oceanic patrols.

The 3 culprits are above. So far the CF has been the only military put down. Col Stone its more then a game its who and what I am. I have been a proud member of the CF since 1986 and frankly we are just tired of comments from people that obviously have little knowledge in what the are posting about. Agreed the CF is underfunded(we are getting up there again-thank gawd) and we lack certain capabilities but what we do have is damn fine.

Oh my gawd... I never thought it could happen to me, maybe one of those other families down the street, but not me.

But it seems that now I must come to terms with being a 'culprit'.

Excuse me while I do an online search for the appropriate 12-step program.

hmm. if you look around in some other posts i can promise you'll see worse remarks about other armies..

and to be honest, those posts are more remarks on underfunding than lack of capability..

and
what Hiro said:)

Good lord someone issue that lad a sense of humor!

Agreed! It's all jokes!

There have been far worse remarks on the USMC I think, something along the lines of "Uncle Sams Misguided Children" and "Their purpose is to jam the door open with dead bodies until the army arrives."

Wow.

It's a joke.

65,000 Canadian active troops vs. a million+ in the US. It's a warranted jab.

and how is it warranted...we are not a super power nor have any aspirations to be one. Considering our population is 30 million compared to the US 300 million?

Guys I jsut came here to bring to your attention that the CF is doing its job and a little more then an Armed Forces of its size. And by the sensitive reactions some of you have displayed I know I hit some sore spots. I personally do not insult another nations armed forces and if you are going to insult mine pleae at least know what you are talking about.

oh bollocks...

Look chuckles, it's a joke. JOOOOOOKE. Good grief... You should see what I say about the Chinese sometime.
