What other figures would you like to have?

Watchdog

Mongoose
Just a few thoughts for the future:

I would like to see the following figures produced if possible:

Deployable antitank systems such as the Milian etc

A Patrol dog unit with choice of patrol or sniffer dogs? (Ex dog Handler)

ATO bomb truck with wheelbarrow and chap taking the long walk.

A Combat Clerk with assault laptop (only joking !!)

Mobile shower unit

and that mobile Mc Donalds/ Pizza hut in the Artic truck that deploys with all american units !!

Cheers
Watchdog

Definately Israelis... Though which army would they fight for? Probably a few units that could be thier own small list, or taken as USMC allies. Russians would be cool too. Maybe a pack for each nation with special weapon options that the squads may have, or just a half-squad of MEA troops as the discription says you can add more soldiers to the squad.

Personelly I'd like to see ,

British:
  • Royal Marines
    Army Snipers
    Air defence units
    RAF Regiment
    29 commando's
    Para's with berets on
    Pinzgauers
    Land rovers
    Harriers

anything Russian

I know they've said snipers and AT attachments are coming, aside from that more choppers and planes for everyone!!!

SST never got off the ground in Australia and I think one of the factors (aside from the Skinnies) was people kept saying "I'll start playing when they bring out Dropships and Fighters." Aircraft add that second dimension that most games don't have and calling in air support or forward deployment appeals.

As for future factions, African Warlords because they're bloody vicious and will look great on a board.

And of course, they have to do the latest super weapon in the Australian arsenal unveiled last week:

The Secesh Strategic Defence System

Well what about Canadians? Definately US ARMY as well. Also, having US Airforce Tactical Air Control commandos would be nice and unique. Nobody ever pays attention or knows about USAF special ops troops.

Canada has an army?

;)

The US Army will be in, with the Land Warrior system.

And of course no one pays attention to those guys....they're destracted by the Navy SEALS or Marine Recon trying to follow the TAC folks' directions.

An IDF contingent w/ a newer Merkava MBT would be cool. I'm still hoping for some sort of South Korean/Japanese military combo. I'll also throw in my vote for the Russians. Seems like it wouldn't be a world war without 'em.

I am really hoping that further down the line they'll implement a USAF army list. Not just for aircraft, but for Security Forces as well. This would appeal to a broader range of gamers as well since they would incorporate "Legacy" equipment ie Humvees, troops w/out LW, etc.

whilst funny i think there is enough saddam minis already:D

Yeah, but did you see the video recently of him playing with slingshots, bows/arrows and molotov cocktails? It's a riot. Besides, Mongoose could sell more than one mini per customer, as Saddam had quite a few body-doubles  . Can you say "Cha-Ching"? Imagine a squad box armed with various weapons but with all of the heads having a similar likeness. Hey, Mongoose could always say "It's not really him. We just took the image from the cover box of an old version of Milton Bradley's Fortress America." That's an inside gamer's joke, if you happen to know the history  .

I don't know that one actually, neither the video or the game:/

I can see the fun in playing capture the VIP/Dictator/knight of the round table-scenarios, gotta love that kind of missions
It would do very well with a whole box of lookalikes, ie find the right one:)

hmm now where are my dollies and the greenstuff

o yeah there was a topic:)
TV crews, some kind of generic VIP, with generic bodyguards of some sort:)
and africans..
T55s? everyone uses those;)

I don't know how long this link I found will remain usable, but it pretty much tells you one-half of the puzzle

The other is that on very old copies (1986) of Milton Bradley's Fortress America game (sort of like a board game of the 80's movie "Red Dawn" heh), there is a very good image of a certain Saddam Hussein (yep!). The artist at Milton Bradley grabbed a random image of an unknown person in the file. It's not that it's a likeness, it's a dead ringer for him  . Really a nice bit of gamer trivia. See what things you can learn here!

People did double-takes back during the invasion of Kuwait and the first gulf war...
