What minor/subrace of Humaniti closely resembles dwarves?

The Geonee could fill that role, although not as well as the Darrians fill the role of space elves.

There was an actual "Dwarves in Space" article for Traveller in Dragon Magazine back in the day (by Roger E. Moore, IIRC), but that's not part of the OTU.

The Darmine aren't any shorter than baseline, though. They just have the endurance features.

The Geonee still consider themselves to be the Ancients, a Major Race, or both. They are treasure seekers, tinkerers, and hold a six thousand year grudge against the Vilani. They also have the physique.

1.2m at 100kg? That is quite a bit shorter at 3' 11 1/4", and 100kg is 220 1/2lbs; short and stout.

Huh. That height didn't scan as odd when I read it before.

So we have two short and wide MHRs right next to each other. One pacifist mercantile race, and one ancient tinkerer race.

Yes, though Geonee are canon, Darmine not; so I guess that can influence the choice if one wants to make one between the two. For me, I read up on them because a player is Darmine, in our campaign and I wanted to find out about them.

The Darmine existence is part of Canon, IIRC, but their description so far is not. I keep confusing them with the Irhadre from GT Humaniti.

As much as I like aliens, I guess I have a tendency to play humans, almost all the time in Traveller, and now in DnD5e, I'm playing a human fighter. Maybe I get enough of playing aliens as GM and acting for the NPC's. The Geonee and Darmine dichotomy could play out as the difference between hill and mountain dwarves.
