What kind of ship is this?

Hey guys,

I just came across this nice Youtube video of Babylon 5 space ship fights:

...and at 05:11, there is a ship on the left, which I do not recognize: it is sleek, vertical design, the engine seems to be asymmetrically aligned.

It may be just a Sentri fighter from a different angle, however I thought I ask the gang about this.

I think its a Sentri making a tight banking turn ?

I'm not so sure. Even head on you should see some curvature to a Sentri's wings because they're bent down. There's what appears to be a similar ship about 3/4 to the right, 1/2 up, below the right hand Vorchan (from your point of view, not the Vorchans' ), practically flying through the exploding Frazi.

The article on B5 Scrolls implies that there were (at least) two versions of Sentri, plus the updated one in The Lost Tales, so it's possible that this is an earlier model.

Find some more shots of the ship, scratch-build it, and call it a real Haven.

Thanks for all the answers.

I did rewatch the video on a bigger screen on the highest resolution there was and it certainly seems to be a Sentri in a vertical C position. Though there may be really two different Sentri variants - one more curved and the other more flat. At least it seems so to be.

If I would guess a Rutharian, I think it would be the ship leaving the screen on the right just at the beginning of the sequence, however it really could be just another Sentri.

I really doubt they designed another type of fighter just for brief shot like this? Designing new models ain't cheap. If they designed another centauri fighter you can bet it would appear elsewhere too.

Minor shot like this ain't worth designing just for that.

Slow-mo on the DVD, it does look like the underside of a Sentri. And fits in with the scene, a Frazi is fighting it.

but yeah it does seem like its a Sentri.

Maybe it's an example of the sci-fi cross-over - looks like a cylon raider from the remake. :lol:
