What did we say? The Retailer Dropped thread is gone.

It's Mongoose's board, they can monitor what is said and delete as necessary. The thread lasted a while, it made its point, enough is enough. We now sit back and watch. Hopefully, the thread will spur Mongoose to action everywhere, not just in the UK. If not, well, actions speak louder than words. Either way, it served its purpose.

Well said and I agree.

It appears that the UK retailers will be well taken care of. What about the US retailers? One can assume that the changes will arrive later, but will they arrive at all?

Mongoose made great promises regarding my FLGS being able to buy directly from the warehouse in Ohio. Since then, the owner of my FLGS has made several inquiries which have gone unanswered.

I wrote a RPG artical for B5 and asked Bry politely if he could take a look at it,

I got a responce an hour later "Hell you know more about my countreys millitary than I do."

Its people like Bry who say thats good and what about this and that and its nice that people who give advice and point you in the right direction.

all I saw in that thread was constructive criticism and people commenting on what they saw from Mongoose.

From my own viewpoint, my comment in that thread may well have upset some people regarding the future of mongoose - but look at it from where Im sitting. Some of the stuff Mongoose have produced in the last year just hasnt worked. We have had ongoing problems getting miniatures from the company (and I'll be totally honest here - making someone wait 18 months for a model is nothing short of disgusting).

Seeing this kind of thing go on makes me wonder whats happening at mongoose. This is the forum I use to discuss B5 and the company that produces it - dont be surprised when I come here and voice my worries.

If Mongoose is fine and everything is getting sorted then great. Now prove it to us.

I would have to agree. I have a small, but growing, interest in Babylon 5 who are expressing disinterest because they can't get their hands on these neat things they hear about in the books.

Neroon, for example. Seriously, what is going on? Why can't my LGS order a Dag'Kar?

Are the American retailers going to be able to order these models for us?

I might have posted this in an earlier thread, so this might sound familiar...

I was last told from an online retailer and my LGS that Mongoose has not given them a definitive date for their resupply, other than 'by the end of the year.' [meaning by late December 2007]

Thus, while I love this product and I am quite enthusiastic about what Mongoose has done in the past (and what they will do in the future), I am being hopefull that I will see some sort of miniatures by the end of this year. Yes, I am holding my breath.

However, I am not angry nor pissed off at anyone. Honest.

Since the game (2nd ed) was introduced at my LGS, and the continuing, growing interest with several players who hail from a sci-fi background, all I can say is that I am believing that the rules system and game mechanics are quite solid for this product, and I will most certainly enjoy gaming B5ACtA.

As of right now though, I am counting down the days till I see my minis...

Honestly? Time. These forums can get extremely busy, and I cannot dedicate a staff member to police them - it may not be a full time job, but it would take a serious chunk out of someone's day. So, we do what we can, when we can.

The alternative is to adopt more draconian rules for the forum, and I can well appreciate why some other companies do it. The policy makes it very easy, efficient and fast.

However, at this time, I do not feel that is a step we want to take. We want people to feel free here but, at the same time, we reserve the right to kill threads that are rude, abusive, factually incorrect, or just plain wrong.
Might I recommend a method used at other forums I have participated at? Most of them are private sites and manned by volunteers...

Lock threads when they appear to be getting out of control. A little post stating Why it's being locked, but leaving the info up there to be seen, at least for a couple days before deleting the whole thread would be useful.

that`s standard procedure on several of the forums i use; a Moderator (volunteer or otherwise) locks the thread, lists the reason why and it sits a day or so before getting removed for good.

And sends a PM to the offending user, usually.

I wouldn't know about that one on my other forums (though I might have found out about it here a time or 2)...

Well I have to say that evidently something has been done here in the US. I recieved confirmation from FRP that my back ordered items, the Drakh patrol cruiser and carrier on their way. This all after Matt addressed the issue. I want to thank every body for voiceing their concerns. It does go to show that we have a say and that MGP listens. It just takes time and some prodding on the part of the customer. It shows to me that this company is making an effort to get things done for the customer, and by the way I recieved my new fleet book on Friday and it appears to be a very well made book. Thanks to everybody on the forum and at MGP.
