Mongoose
i'll start off by saying i haven't played yet and just got the book..

(though i already have armies ready to face off (british and germans). i'll post pictures at some point)

looking through the lists it seems all the army (within factions and even across factions) are very very similar. Is it me or will i notice real differences once i play?

i also noticed that comparing units some seem such a better value (the best exemple being german tanks)..

i understand being a historical wargame it may makes sense but from a purely rules point of view some units seem not worth it!

any toughts?

PS: to shoot a model you need to be able to see both the center of the firezone and the model rigth?

PS2: when are the extension due? and what are they (pacific and air power?)

PS3: i almost forgot.. AA guns can fire at ground units rigth? only guns with the mention "AA only" can't?

Well they are all human after all...
But I am very confident that the armies play different enough.

Can you be more specific? Which units look out of place to you?

now that i have the book in front of me i can... though the exemple i originaly thouhg was poignant appears a bit less clear now...

but comparing jagdpanther V Vs panther V

for 20 points the panther gets a lot more stuff:
-1 better point of save on the sides
- two extra machine guns (one of wich is AA, the other improvingthe damage with 24")
-and a gun not limited by arc of fire
-both main guns have the same stats.

seems very much worth the extra 20 points.

also could you point out the main differences in play between german grenadiers and british infantry... i assume i'll see them once i play. but what would you say are them main differences.

thanks.

All true BUT keep in mind that both tanks have Multifire/2, so only 2 weapons can be shot per shoot action. So while the Panther has more options the overall effect remains more or less the same.
Try some games with both tanks and let us know! :)

Comparing German Grenadiers and British troops: Indeed more or less the same. Main difference is the equipment (if any)...
You really picked the more similar armies, but I have the feeling that these armies should be more or less the same...
