Wave 4 pics up...

Whew. 45$ for each helicopter??
Sorry, I'm out. I think I won't continue buying BF:Evo Stuff. For the same price I could buy those(already expensive) WH40K Tanks which posses at least three times the mass of a BF:Evo helicopter. I think, I will continue to buy more of the original SST stuff.
BF is no longer an option. :(

At $45 a pop I can't afford to go for more than the one. I'm getting one of each though simply because I've been hanging out for them and I was a little prepared for this eventuality.

ditto here, ill be simply proxy the cobra with my new Apache if my opponent doesn't like whatever home-brewed rules im using unless the mini is absolutely mind blowing in person (my AH-64D was $30 Aussie, the MGP AH-1 is $45 USD!!!! )

That gives a total of 640+900+75+1575+850=4040 points, so at 1 aircraft per 1000 points, you could field 4 Lynxes, maybe even 5 along with all that as 1 platoon.

The Lynx is a Transport option :)

*still sitting in a corner mumbling about the Future Lynx not being an attack helicopter......*

But it has the capability - and so we give you the option! If you want to be true to current thinking, simply unplug the missile rack, and fly clean. . .

£30 does seem more than a little on the steep side to me for the future Lynx, will have to see what else is available...

I also would like to know what its armed with? I seem to remember reading a whilst back that it might come with more than 1 card to signify different variants / roles for the FL (such as transport, anti air, anti tank) is this still the plan?

Mate, I think you got the last Apache from Hobbyco. I tried and they were out of stock... at least there's always ebay... I'm currently trying to procure some from there at a reasonable price

plenty of things have capability, Warriors have TOW capability, you could put add-ons to everything
I have yet to see a single piece of evidence that Future Lynx will be used in this role or that we will even still be using TOW in 10-15 years

Well, the first point is that the world of BF Evo is not our own (or, at least, we had better hope!). There is far more fighting in our projection that is likely realistic. Thus, we can assume more Future Lynx choppers will be bought, more will be used in an attack role, and so on.

Westland is designing a missile rack for the Future Lynx, so that is what we have based things on.

Last, those missile racks unplug from the model - if you want to go for the realistic option, you can simply ignore them!

The Cobra is certianly the nicer of the two extant choppers. I hope the Lynx's photos aren't doing it justice because the colour scheme seems a bit flat compared to the previous British units. Is the Cobra coming in Grey and desert camo schemes?

LOVE the camo scheme for the MEA tanks, hopefully the Desert Iris will use it when it comes out. And the PLA trucks are very nice - I love those boxey SAM racks and the Humm-vee-look to them.

In both setups, I thought the multi stat variants would be one that's a transport and one that counted as an aircraft.

So when will the EFTF get an honest to goodness Aircraft then?

question: why would you even put in "unrealistic" options? :? does that mean there will be more "fantasy" designs?

I thought I was buying into a modern day accurate game :(
based on real world armies of the near future.......Based on supposition and projection of real world armies in the near future, this game features new technologies that are just around the corner

and I have no LSWs in my sections, even though they are still in use as long as the rifle is

I know how Hiffano feels about his Drakh Mothership now

Love the helicopters! The actual stands are genius too, gives them even more realism. Time to earn some credits!

On another note who wouldn't want to see the Apache? That will be a big seller!

To answer your question how about these options Shadow, CKEM, 40mm Warrior Cannon, 150mm Gun on Leopard 2... Remember that MGP doesn' have oracles... they're making educated guesses about what armies are looking at acquiring in the future... they can't be precise about it because armies and humans are picky things...
Remember those books about 2001 and what we'd have by now (eg flying cars, space homes etc)... people seriously believed a lot of them would be available. I think it's a little unrealistic to actually make a claim because it isn't happening now. If you look at the progression of weapon and system developments, armies usually get quick fix additions to their vehicles... missile racks on the sides of transport helicopters aren't unrealistic.
