OK people, here's the tourney pack.
Time to get planning ;)

Haha - cool pack :) You just had to blow up Mon'Gse and suck it into a black hole didn't you?

Couple of points:
  • The timetable has 4 games, the scenarios section has 3. I assume 3 is correct due to the scenarios...
  • "Tournament fleets" section says a max of 10 ships for the entire roster, but special fleet design rules say that is only for each game's fleet. Clarification please?
  • Is scenario 3 at Battle or War? The scenario list says War, but the scenario itself says Battle.
  • Scenario 3 doesn't show deployment zones?
  • Ships lose SM in zone C... what about Shadows how do they move?
  • 50% VPs for black hole destroyed ships seems unfair to me... if I do so much damage to an enemy that he can't escape the black hole, I want full VP's plus a style bonus!!

must agree nicely done
:D
great scenario ideas Gentlemen 8)

I need to read properly (and hope an event at work is cancelled so I can attend)

Good pack.

I have a question about the Resource Grab scenario. You say the player with the highest PL ship closest to the objective will claim it, which takes precidence, ship PL or distance from the objective. e.g. a Patrol PL ship (or even a fighter wing as part of a complement from a mothership) is on the objective but an Armageddon PL ship is 1mm from the objective...

In the Big, Bad, Bye Bye scenario I don't get the map at all. There appears to be a debris zone on the right and a deployment zone at the bottom. Other than that there are three main zones of indeterminate size and location.

BTW, I also agree that for ships killed by the black hole they ought to yield full VPs as otherwise ships about to die will just fly straight into the black hole to save on VP losses...

Great pack though and I look forward to the event!

Yes 3.

It's game fleet not total pool fleet.

WAR... bad copy/paste bad ;)

Scenario 3 doesn't show deployment zones?

Now this ones strange they're on the word doc copy but not the pdf version. same set up as scenario 2

Ships lose SM in zone C... what about Shadows how do they move?

Same as any ship (Vree) that loses SM, they move as normal ships with one turn at 45

50% VPs for black hole destroyed ships seems unfair to me... if I do so much damage to an enemy that he can't escape the black hole, I want full VP's plus a style bonus!!

My bad typing, should be PLUS 50%, you get points for being a nasty b*****d and letting sceaming crying enemies slip slowly into oblivion
@ Triggy

Fighters can't claim at all only ships, and as the objective is a 3D model nothing can be ON it. So it's highest PL ship closest (to the centre stem).[

In the Big, Bad, Bye Bye scenario I don't get the map at all. There appears to be a debris zone on the right and a deployment zone at the bottom. Other than that there are three main zones of indeterminate size and location.

See above.

Why thank you kind sir.

@ Da Boss

We could get someone to phone in a bomb threat or something if you want.

As i pointed out in a message to TGT but forgot to mention on the thread the pdf is still work in progress (you might have noticed a small mistake or 5).

EDIT: I've had a closer look at the map for game 3. it looks as though the lines marking set up, zones and such were too thin on the original picture and the pdf conversion couldn't replicate them.
Basicaly the table is split into thirds, each 2X4 foot and the debris zone is 3"X8" at the centre of the opposite end to the black hole.
It'll all come good in second edition..........now where have i heard that before?   8)

Thanks for the answers but I still don't get this one. I'll give the (almost identical) scenario again. If you have a Patrol PL ship 30mm from the objective and an Armageddon PL ship 30.1mm from the objective then who claims it? The closer ship or the bigger ship?

Cheers

Dear oh dear Triggy, all that running is building your thighs and shrinking your brain ;)
Sorry mate couldn't help myself. (And i've always said exercise is unhealthy ) 8)
It's the highest PL ship within the clear space that wins, distance from the objective is only really a question if both players have ships of the same PL that could claim.

Thank you, that's extremely clear now :)

You know what they say, healthy body, healthy mind...we'll see at Walsall anyway :P

Look forward to seeing you again, and what do you mean...my minds perfectly healthy i feed it 3 times a week and change the water in it's bowl at least once a month. ;)

Apologies to all! A family holiday booked into the weekend, has now meant I'll have to miss this wonderful event!

NOOOOOOOOO!!!

I guess you'll have to wait to get your revenge for my victory from last time out...(TWO points!) :P

Hey Funbeast!

Groovy looking pack fella. Quick question for ya about 2nd scenario... the Density 7 asteroid field, do we only roll for possible asteroid collision if we re-enter the field from a clear zone, or do we roll every turn we're in the asteroid field?

Every single time you move mate, as long as there are rocks around you  (so, into and out off clear zones and the whole rest of the table).

As a side note a special rule has been worked into the points system to find the over all winner on the day, the rule is this:

At the end of each game 30 admiralship points will automatically be deducted from Kennyboys total......YOU SHALL BE ROBBED SIR!

Right, that's MY excuse already sorted then! :D

Clanger and I played the big bad bye bye scenario tonight.

I think we set using the wrong deployment zones - we set up as in scenario 1, both along the far side of the table.

We did not move out of zone A. Even though a few ships drifted, they did not drift out of that zone.

And no debris appeared. So there was no terrain. It was somewhat disappointing!

I think maybe the drifting needs to either have a harder CQ, or be further. Maybe a small drift if you pass and a longer drift if you fail.

And maybe there should be debris on the table at the start.

Of course they are just suggestions, feel free to ignore them.

Ok people, it's been a while since the last update so here goes.
The church is booked and waiting for us so no problems there.
I've gone over the Pack and made a few changes, and hopefully cleaned out all the mistakes  .

The new version of the pack can be download here:

Also if you are planning on coming can you let me know please by copy/pasting the lists below into a reply post and adding your name to the relevant list.
It'll let me know if i have to make any more tables, terrain, objectives etc.

Cheers.
