Wanted: Deckplans!

Banded Mongoose
Hello all you creative/artist types out there.

I just bought the Alien Book: 5 Solomani and it was really great, but i became very sad when the writer/creator had altered the Sundowner lass from the old disc-shaped ship to something that does not resemble this free trader.

So, if there are people who likes to draw deckplans, i would like to offer my undying respect to them if they have (or want to make me) a deckplan for the original Sundowner-Class free trader

I did the plans. I tried to maintain the 'feel' of those old illustrations from the original GDW edition. Maybe I misidentified the Sundowner's original illustration. :-(

Maybe i sounded a bit harsh, and if so, I am sorry. But I have always loved the Sundowner class, it was the first ship my character (with friends) owned when my father GM:ed the first Megatraveller adventure i ever played. So it has always been a very important piece of traveller for me :)

But I must say that I liked your version, just not as a Sundowner.

@lucasdigital, your work is amazing. Every ship on your site has a home IMTU. Thanks!

EDIT: for the benefit of the others here

Fovean, You're too kind :-D

rcbecker1,
Mostly 3DS Max then photoshop. Beginning to wish I had Illustrator - I'm thinking of moving to a vector package in future. Might try using inkscape or the app that comes with Open Office.

When I do 3D stuff, I use 'SketchUp' and 'Freehand'.

Depending on the project, it might be first one then the other. Sometimes I also use 'Illustrator' as an in-between converter, but those are the two main programmes.

I mainly use ProFantasy's Campaign Cartographer 3 with the Cosmographer add-on. I also use MS Paint for occasional tweaking. Yes, CC3 has a learning curve and can be a bit costly but so does driving a car with a manual transmission. Once you learn it, you can accomplish quite a bit with it (just like the car). I'm also finally teaching myself Google's Sketchup and 3D artistry (not holding my breath though). There's a number of CC3-based deckplans on the Web and ProFantasy provides a free downloadable viewer for anything built with CC3 and CC2. The CC3 file can also be printed out to any PDF file creator; there are a number of free ones available on the Web as well. PDF995 is my favorite.

Just my 2 CrImps worth.
