Wachowski Brothers to make Conan the Barbarian sequel?

Oddly enough though, it seems the Conan fans are having an intelligent conversation here while the Wachowski brothers's fan is screaming and ranting like an uneducated hill-billy. Plus there's that lovely rumor that the W brothers plagiarized parts of the original Matrix's script- which would explain why when they were forced to use their own facilites for the two sequels they blew chunks.

Intellect is okay, but overrated. Muscle and force still get you most what you need in life.

Good posting ^^

I did like some of the wachowski's work... but i do not agree about their so called genius... they did a good job with the matrix, and the sequel could have been worse...

But do not dare to question REH genius...

It was not the "story" that made the matrix what it is, it was "bullet time" (even if i´m in the group that liked more the story)

I must say that we need brain and muscle to survive... that is the rule...

Who's that funny guy? I hope he will post more often - it's always good to see that there are people who don't mind showing how stupid and self-possessed they are. Wonderful! Please visit us again and don't bother to speak your "mind"! 8)

The sex-change thing and Larry Wachowski's weird sex hijinks can be looked up here: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/9138137/the_mystery_of_larry_wachowski/

Can't stand the Matrix movies, don't care for them plundering Alan Moore's V for Vendetta for their own political agendas (even though I'm liberal as hell), and definitely don't care for them going anywhere NEAR Conan.

On a more serious note, PSP, seriously, tone it down a little, don't want to get noticed by the mods.

Little late for that. I reported him to the Mods already.

It's understandable that when you cram a bunch of people together they're not all going to get along, things may get heated, you may even have some pretty bad fights. But what makes it .. tolerable, if not acceptable, is that we're all here, in the end, for the same reason.

But joining a site clearly with -only- the intention of flaming people and levelling insults is not only spamming and trollish, but it's juvenile and totally unacceptable.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that we see a swing of a ban-hammer in here pretty quickly.

Gotta give any offenders a chance to mend their ways though. I know of at least 2 people that have been kicked off after being warned though. Rest assured, Old BEar's ban hammer is well used where appropriate.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Of course, I'm not a moderator, so this is just my unqualified opinion, but you have to look at the offender in question.

He joined some weeks ago and in all that time only has 2 posts to his name - both of which have nothing to do with anything related to Mongoose Publishing, and both of which are solely flames against members and the interests of the members. To me, that is not a person that needs another chance, but rather someone who signed up specifically to be a jackass and has no chance of changing his ways.

Again, just my opinion of the situation - but I think it's an extremely valid point that shouldn't be ignored for the sake of 'fairness.' Case-by-case basis is how everything is determined, as far as I know. And this is a pretty extreme case.

NOT YOU STUPID BACKWOODS REDNECKS. OKAY !!!

But, but, but, I'm British...

If there's anything more satisfying than a moron showing themselves up, I haven't discovered it yet :D

For all its faults, the first Matrix film still holds a place in my heart, just for the immortal line that is 'There is no spoon'...however, they really should never have made sequels.

This is a link to the Rotten Tomatoes forum. THe thread is about how a woman won a lawsuit against the Wachoski Brothers for stealing The Matrix from her script. Lots of good info. Now you know why the first one is pretty cool and the second and third eat donkey.

I just read the thread attached to your link. The woman has not won the lawsuit yet - sounds like a serious C-O-N - Spiracy to me. Not good to believe anything on the internet. Does not excuse PSP for a moronic post but the issue with this woman is far from clear. Thanks for the link Hudson.

Though the Matrix has been accused of plagarism before, notably by comic book writer Grant Morrison, I seriously don't think the Sophia Stewart case is one of those instances. Really, the woman is a nutcase. She also claims that The Terminator is also a direct theft of one of her works, which is ridiculous if anyone knows how James Cameron came about conceptualizing it.

Right you are. A quick look at SNOPES shows that the original article was apoligized for by the newspaper in question. It still seems that the Wachocski Brothers made an amazing film and then made two steaming piles afterwards which should raise some red flags.

Harlen Ellison had to sue James Cameron for writing credit for The Terminator. For his 'The Outer Limit" scripts Soldier and another one who's name eludes me at the moment. That is unquestioned.

Writers are on the low end of the pole in Hollywood and tend to get ripped of on a regular basis.

Good thread.

"Demon with a Glass Hand" was the other episode cited in the lawsuit.

He did write "I Have no Mouth and Must Scream" which was turned into a video game that I always wanted to play but never did.

Ah, yeah, Demon with a Glass Hand. About the video game, same here.

Still, I think the Ellison lawsuit was undeserved. Cameron came up with enough original stuff, I feel, to make it unique. That dream he had with the endo coming out of the flames was quite original imo.
