vote MRQ GOOD or BAD

YES

...but will only retain interest while Mongoose say they will maintain and produce Gloranatha supplements

...and they told me that would only happen if we people buy them, so its double-edged situation, but a necessary financial constriction

I cannot, realistically, see any problems there. My comments were aimed at the gaming market in general, rather than Glorantha itself. . .

YES, I am definitely happy with a new RQ being available.

I'm not totally happy with all of the new rules (mostly with DEX being a total GOD-stat in combat) but I like most of the new stuff added.

Having said that I think it's really early days at the moment. Give the system a chance to 'marinate' in the gaming community and I think this could easily become the best fantasy system out there.

Yes for the background as I love Glorantha, but I won't be using the MRQ rules so my answer is yes and no

This thread has at least shown that regardless of a few issues that have arisen there is still a very positive feeling about the release and/or the future supplementary releases. This wasn't very apparent before because (of course) discussion has tended to focus on the resolution of problems...Its nice to have a thread here that might inspire rather than deter newcomers!

Ah but most of those voting yes would have probably voted the same way if all Mongoose was doing was releasing Gloranthan 2nd age settings and info for 2nd or 3rd edition RQ rules.

To many of us the setting is of more importance and interest than the new MRQ rules.

Thats true. The question was simplistic. Really I just wanted to get a sense of the general atmosphere among runequesters (old and new), whether optimism or disappointment was the overriding emotion. It seems like optimism. And of course people are optimistic for different reasons. Though I think that a good number of people include the MRQ rules as one of their reasons to be happy. As for me, being an old school RQ2er, Gloranthan publications are a big factor. However, the MRQ rules are growing on me.

YES

Subject to the clear-up continuing to have a single, opposed combat roll AND the halving skills glitch is cleared up. Whilst I'll run combat as the explanations, I'll also try it with a "X is attacking you: declare your reaction, if any" approach.

Other than that, I quite like the system.

ARE YOU HAPPY THAT MRQ HAS COME INTO EXISTENCE UNDER THE NAME OF RUNEQUEST?

My precise answer would have to be NO. I am VERY HAPPY that RQ is back in print, with a raft of new background material. I am NOT HAPPY with the current state of the MRQ rules.
