vorlons and acta cards

hi all,
being quite new to b5 miniatures(played others),this might be a silly question for all you long time players BUT stats in sky f s, and the acta revised edition states the vorlon ships as having less power etc than they do on the acta cards from epiccards data base downloads, as i use the cards which is right?
second thing, it says you only use the first roll of the dice to target a vorlon ship, which is fine example enemy throws 4 5s... = 20 damage, halfed to 10.
if he has beam, dd lets say, does he still re roll and add double damage as well in the first roll? making it 20 damage to the vorlon? it seems that the vorlons allthough hard arent quite as hard as the series,( ok i still won with them against overwhelming odds).
thanks for your time and patience

The stats you see on the cards are Armageddon stats, this is the latest version of the rules. My ship viewer has both SFOS "tournament version" and Armageddon stats.

The Adaptive Armour halves the final damage amount. So if a Double Damage weapon hits a Vorlon, scores 4 hits and say gets four 5's, the total damage would be 20, doubled to 40, then halved back to 20. True they are not as hard as the series, neither are the shadows... wouldn't really be much fun to play them, if they were...

Check-out this site for current Arma Stats :)

In your example, if you through 4x 5s, that would mean 4 hits, you would then roll on the Damage table, (ACTA revised rules p8).
If you score any 6s on the damage table, that a critical hit.
You would then roll for that on the critical hit table.
it says you only use the first roll of the dice to target a vorlon ship
I've no idea what you mean here. :)

wow, lightning respose, cheers all clear and friendly thanks a lot..
im just building fleets of all races at the moment so thanks for your help,
im sure theyl be new questions soon, lol.
now if there are anyone in n.devon wanting to play?

If you are having difficulty finding local opponents, checkout Vassal ACTA, its ACTA online, developed by forum members past and present. It allows you to play online against anybody anywere.
Its basicly a board and dice program thats been adapted to play ACTA.
If you check the forum you'll find the relevant info :)

yeah, I'd try the locater thread first. Vassal, can be a little tedious in my experience. However, I think its a great way to meet players you'd never otherwise get to play against. I've played some guys in my time zone and another up in canada, but much more than 3-4 hours difference and scheduling a game gets difficult. I'd love to play some of you guys in the UK but 8+ time zones make it quite difficult.
But, after that, get your friends to play! Its better to learn the rules that way, as vassal doesn't do any rules for you, you have to know all the tables, charts, and track all the damage yourself.

I'm glad you like my cards. I made them "just for you"

Chern, I would rather it be 8+ hours against those UK types than 6 hours. That way you could have a reasonable mid morning game vs an evening game in the UK.
