Vehicle Handbook now in SRD Form!

The vehicle construction rules are finally in the Traveller SRD and (thus) now Open Content, allowing you to create and publish your own vehicle designs and Modifications!

It is part of the Traveller Developer's Pack, which can be downloaded from;

All around the world third-party devs just rejoiced. And now that they can write "All vehicles designed in accord with the system in the Vehicles Supplement" you are likely to see sales of that book increase.

Yea, I asked Matt about it end of last year/start of this year. I wanted to do vehicles so I asked him if I could turn the book into an SRD. He said sure. Once I finished the project, I started working on my own vehicles.

I get the feeling that one reason that Mongoose hasn't updated the SRD for ages is the sheer amount of resources required to do convert the relevant sections of each book to an SRD.

Personally, I'd like to see the expanded star system generation rules and survival rules from Scout added to the SRD someday....

Yea, it did take a bit of work. And considering it doesn't add anything to Mongoose's bottom line, its completely understandable why it wasn't done before.

There are a few that I am looking at. But I'm not going to start on them until I have a project in mind that I want to do. However, if any of my fellow Traveller Compatible Publishers wants to use certain rules, they can contact Matt to work on SRDs...

The format is going to be the same. However, I had a request for all the planets of the subsector to have atleast some detail. So Massina will have 7 worlds that given just as much detail as the 7 worlds detailed in Fessor Subsector while the remaining planets will have a 1 paragraph description that will give you a brief starting point from which to make your own.

Very true. Dale pointed out to me that 3rd party publishers have a vested interest in expanding the SRD, so when he suggested he do it, we were only too happy to say yes!

That's understandable - I'm sure many people here would like you to concentrate on making NEW Traveller material instead of updating the SRD with existing material.

However, you could always ask for volunteers from the community to help with the task. I'm sure that a number of 3PPs would be happy to help out! Not to mention dedicated fans...

Any chance the Supplement 3 gear can be included in the SRD ? Some great stuff in there (in fact one piece I suggested)

Hey matt

I think you guys left out the section that has to do with explaining how weapons that take "spaces" fit on battledress.

The table is there but with no explanation of what the spaces mean or translate into slots.
