VaS - Dogfights

This has been asked on the VaS forum, and we could do with a nice offical response please.

"Came across a different interpretation tonight of how the dogfight rules work.

I thought that a player could choose to activate his planes instead of a ship.

All his planes would then attack including dogfights.

When the second players decides to activate his planes he then only has his bombers left to attack with because the fighters have fought during the other players dogfight phase.

My opponent thought that you would also fight with your fighters during your aircraft phase thus giving you potentially two two dogfights per turn.

Which way do you think is correct?"

cheers

Well can we have some offical rulings on dogfights please. Espcially about what happens in a dogfight with more than 2 flights involved. Instead of us poor players trying to work out our own rules then getting flamed for it.

Umm, haven't flamed you.

Each aircraft may initiate _one_ dogfight in its turn, and may choose which enemy to engage if in contact with more than one.

However, it may take part in more than one dogfight _if_ more than one enemy is in contact and they initiate a dogfight each.

Excellent! Thats all we needed to hear. Thanks.

An no you havent flamed me, but myself and many others do get flamed when we ask these questions and are forced to come up with our own house rules in the normal VaS forum.
