Using plastic Bonsai trees as gaming terrain.

I found these 'fake' bonsai trees in a local fabric/craft store (Jo-Ann's) and they were on sale at 50% off. So for $5 each I acquired some nice 'old' looking trees for gaming. I dismounted the fake container and flocked a few junk CDs to use as a new base, to stabilise them. The trees have a nice look, with some real 'personality' about them. For those that are confused, the bozsai is the one on the right in the first pic. :wink:

When i saw the topic title I was sort of worried...... but the tree itself looks really cool...... I would be tempted to put a tree house in it.....

Not sure about the potted flower... but I see no reason why you couldn't use it in SST :lol:

Yup, or just kids playing.... every tree that was big enough on our farm had a tree house that me my brother and our friends built. We would no sooner finish a tree house as start looking for a new tree to colonize.

Well, I got back from my second trip to Joann's awhile ago and picked up another seven trees. These have the other three styles of foliage on them. One style will work well with my jungle-themed board, as the greenery is long-leafed. I may not base all of these on CDs but will rather try to see just how stable they can be using their exposed roots. It should work fine. One of the trees will be sacrificing its foliage as it will work great for small bush scenic material on the board. Oh, and I should tell you guys that there are sizes up to a price tag of $40 SRP. Iirc there are four prices/sizes. The smallest of $10 (or $5 at sale price) is the size I bought. The sale looks like it will be going on until the end of June.

Not sure about the potted flower... but I see no reason why you couldn't use it in SST :lol:

Sorry, but that plant is destined to meet with a sperm whale a few miles over an alien planet. Of course, that doesn't mean the Arachnids won't drop in there eventually for breakfast. :wink:
