USA/MEA for a begineer.

Hi all!
I've been thinking for awhile of getting into the game.
I'd have to buy two factions since my mates are mean gits.
So i'm gonna go MEA/USA.
So if i had $100 (ebay pricing) for both sides , what would be good choices for a fun balanced game? :)

Roughly speaking, one box of marines and two boxes of MEA infantry. Ebay prices fluctuate, but that's about $90 in retail and 190pts vs 185pts.

Thanks for the reply, but i should be able to spend 100$ on each side! So 200$ total :D

This is pretty close to what I use when I run demonstrations:

1 box of marines: 185pts, $30
1 box of Shadows: 210pts, $30
1 box of Force Recon: 150pts, $25
--
545pts, $85

2 boxes of MEA infantry: 190pts, $60
1 box of Fedayeen: 210pts, $30
1 box of technicals: 150pts, $30
-
550pts, $120

This gives you a good core of infantry while letting you play with light vehicles and elite infantry. The Abrams is fun, but better reserved for later games when the MEA player isn't discouraged by its presence.

Or, print out the rules for free, along with the unit cards and buy some 1/72 plastic minis... just about for FREE....

The unit cards for those models that have been released are available on the main Mongoose website. Go to the Battlefield Evolution section, and you'll find a unit card on each unit's individual page available for download as a .pdf file.
