What the heck is wrong with that Marine's gun? Not enough Viagra?

And that Camo Pattern doesn't even qualify as the old Tiger stripe either!

The tanks look a bit better. Overall, I will be happy if wave 2 and beyond gets close to the proof pics.

I think the figs are useable. The problem I have with the USMC is that the digital camo is gone. I don't kow what camo they are in, but it's not the digital style from the preview pics. Hopefully that pattern will be on wave 2+.
They've never had digi-camo, even in the original pics.

And we're surprised by this how?

Personally, I find it difficult to believe that no one from the company checked a shipment for quality before these were set loose upon the supply chain.

My interest in Mongoose began with SST in April of '05. I'd need a database to keep track of all the delays, mis-casts, model assembly problems, and shoddy quality that plagued that line. By the time the line was put on Hiatus so Mongoose could work on BF:EVO, it had been more than a year since the original boxed game was released, and there was still no sign of the dropships that had stats included in that box.

Mongoose, as a company, has great big ideas but poor execution in my opinion, and after the latest debacle I believe they'll be hard pressed to extract further dollars from my wallet.

I'm still dissapointed personally by the pifcs I might be swayed when my local MI get them in but until then I'm not saying anything.

Anton.

Don't bother saying anything other than "we're behind Mongoose 100%" because they'll just delete your post. Can't have dissenting opinions...

Well, you are still here. . .

You have got to admit there has been alot of negative comments deleted now though (Although to be fair a hell of alot of possitive ones too).

Edward who?

And no, that wasn't a joke. You are going to have to give me something more to work with than a random name. . .

That's nonsense. You can hardly blame them for removing an entire thread full of screaming and moaning (no matter how deserved it was) - this is, after all, a company website. But well-articulated criticism always seems to be received fairly around here, which - again keeping in mind this is a company website - is a remarkably healthy and mature policy.

He had a post in this thread that was before the large picture post at the top of this page, then a post after commenting on his first post's apparent abduction, and now that one's missing too.

You know, you are right now that I look at it. I still like whatever they are wearing in the originals better though.

Any way, given that I have little time to paint and I really want to play, I'm going to keep my pre orders unless they look really bad. These figures are better than I could do with the amount of time I have to do it. I'm convinced this was a bad mistake and Mongoose will fix it. If not, I'll simply stop buying.

Matt, any word on wave 2's quality yet?

Sorry, but I don't know anything about this!!!

What happened to the non bendy plastic as well?
Im more concerned about that than the lack lustre paintjobs to be entirly honest, because the sculpts seem to really be suffering.

Okay.... but just so you know I wasn't accusing you of this. It may well have been a glitch or he might have clicked delete instead of edit or who knows. I was just curious, that's all Matt.

EdwardII's post salvaged from Frothers (Since Matt has no knowledge of it I assume its ok to repost it)

This is crap. Mongoose puts the pictures up on the website, deleting the old pictures, so they think they are good enough to sell.

Then someone starts to complain about them. This snowballs.

Now they have to look into it.

This is enough for some of the kool aid drinkers over on the mongoose forum. "Oh, Matt is on it, he'll sort it out."

The result is things will be delayed for a while as the models are not up to standards.

Then lo and behold, the threads with that info on them are nuked, the models are good enough to put out.

All in one day.

Pretty dodgy stuff. I've liked what mongoose has done for customer service in the past. The light MI troopers were a fantastic example of good customer service after a screw-up and everyone screws up.

But now they are going to release those crappy figures? WTF!?

This stinks on ice.

It is non-bendy plastic. However, the barrels of the guns, being to scale and thus very thin, can sometimes be subject to a bending. Basically, if you make this plastic thin enough, it will bend, but you won't find any movement in the models themselves.

I was under the impression that they were going to be the hardened GW or model kit injection mold style plastic.

My son's comment this morning sums up my take on the whole issue.

"You know, those aren't so bad after all."......"Especially after having to use paper minis last night."

After seeing the pics of them in packages, I keep seeing myself on the toy isle at Walmart. They might be a price point or two off, but their still pretty much the same thing we see there in 1/32nd.

We'll be giving it try.

Regards,
Larry
