More or less the last preview picture before the book release:
US_Aerial_Infantry_Squad.jpg

US Aerial Infantry Squad – Aerial Infantry Squads were made possible by the engineering genius of Sikorsky. The backpack-style M2 PPS made it possible for individual soldiers to nimbly move about. Only the best and the bravest strapped on these spinning blades and took the fight to the enemy. (15mm Infantry of DP9s Gear Krieg range, bases by King & Kerr)

@Agis:

I have two questions and maybe one idea:

Do you have any plans for the next release after Gear Krieg?

Do you think it is possible/interesting to do a book similar to Battlefronts latest release Midwar Monsters?
In short, this book deals with several vehicles which are either prototypes (wich only existed on paper) or were produced in very small numbers (and were or were not used in combat). This book contains some very interesting vehicles, e.g., a British Scout car with four axles called Boarhound.

I think that a book similar to this would be a nice addition for World at War and can bring some cool vehicles to the game.

It's just an idea. :)

Hi Dark Warrior,

that is what I call nice coincidence! I am indeed toying with the idea of a dedicated experimental vehicle book. I have already stat-ted out most of the vehicle from FoWs Midwar Monster book plus the whole E-Series and some other experimental vehicles (Kugelblitz, Kätzchen etc.)

However - I am really evaluating the whole A.D.Publishing endeavor at the moment. If the Gear Krieg book is not selling well enough I might just stop producing any more books. It has 2 reasons:
1 - the sales are not really justifying the effort and
2 - my real life jobs gets more demanding by the minute.
So we'll see. 8)

Just for the fun of it:

That sounds very nice indeed! The E-Series contains some very interesting concepts and there are several very cool looking vehicles out there. 8)

That would be very bad but I can understand this, so let's hope that all is selling well and we get more books from the two of you.

And thanks for the Boarhound stats.

And one more thing I want to ask. During our latest game this weekend we had an interesting situation and we came up with a question.

The situation is as follows: Player one had a squad with some models behind a wall (and thus a blocked line of sight) and some in the open (actually only two in the open, eight behind the wall).
The other player fired with a weapon with the Lethel Zone 2" trait. He chose one of the two figures in the open as centre of the fire zone.
Both models were very close to each other so both wer inside the 2" Lethal Zone and recieve one hit, no problem this far.
Now we had two more models from the squad (behind the wall, out of sight) within the Lethal Zone. Do these two recieve hits as normal?, will they benefit from Cover (save and killing bonus)?

All answers unofficial, only Matt can answer officially!
I play situations like this as follows: 1st - Page 21 BfEvo:WaW rulebook: "...roll the weapon’s Damage Dice against every model either fully or partially within the weapon’s Lethal Zone." So all models are affected.
If the shot is from Artillery fire no cover modifiers apply, if fired from a non artillery weapon use the modifiers for medium cover (BfEvo:WaW P.19).

Hope that helps.

Time for more or less the last preview: A unit card for the PzKpf VI Thor Ausführung F.

I hope you like it, IMO Dave created a very good looking card that captures a bit of the old GK books and our Compendiums.

Agis, please say that GK will be available in the VERY near future! This is just too awesome to wait for much longer.
Thanks Mark, and please do not worry, just yesterday Dave sent in the latest layout version, we are near completion: August 2009 is the release month!

OK, this time it is the last preview picture. :D
If all goes right the book will be released next weekend via the Wargames Vault! 8)

MidWar_Platoon_GK.jpg

A nice joint venture of Kevin Benneh and me.

I needed a mid war German Grenadier platoon fast and Kevin was nice enough to paint the 35 15mm FoW minis expertly within 2 weeks!
Infantry by FoW, 250/10 by Quality Casting and the two walker -of course- by DP9.

Hot on the heels of our successful Vehicle Compendium books is our 6th book: World at War: Gear Krieg!
GK_cover.jpg

World at War: Gear Krieg is your comprehensive guide to using Two-fisted Pulp Superscience Armoured Fighting Vehicles and Infantry in Battlefield Evolution: World at War.

This 80 page book covers all the unit descriptions, pictures and stats for all the Gear Krieg models that are currently produced by Dream Pod 9. From German Rockettroops, Zombies, Panzerkämpfer, British and US combat walker, the US aerial Infantry to Soviet Superheayv tanks - everything is in this book.
Sample_Page_1.jpg

The book also provides an introduction to the Gear Krieg Universe, new or modified traits necessary to play with the units of this book, modified Advanced Rules to enhance your games even further, an AFV force list and an in depth view on playing World at War in different scales.
Sample_Page_2.jpg

With this book you can play everything from 6mm upwards, even rules to use multibased infantry miniatures are provided.
Sample_Page_3.jpg

As with our previous Vehicle Compendium you will get in fact 3 books with this deal:
a full colour version with many high quality pictures of fully painted models
in addition a B&W text only printer friendly version
and all the unit cards to field these vehicles conveniently on the tabletop.

All units in this book are consistent with existing units in the Battlefield Evolution: World at War and Pacific War books, also written by Agis Neugebauer!

This book requires the use of Battlefield Evolution: World at War, available from Mongoose Publishing.

You can download the book (as all our books) from the Wargame Vault here.

Wow, beautiful looking stuff! You're an inspiration, Agis, truly!

BTW, I'm not very familiar with Gear Krieg. Is there anything for the Japanese? The idea of a game using Japanese "superweapons" is very intriguing...

Thanks chipmunk! :D
Yes there are quite a lot Japanese super science units in the original game.
(Zombie and ONI Infantry, Walkers, walking midget submarines! etc.)

However these are not (YET) covered in my initial release. The reason is that the first Gear Krieg book is focussing on the units that are already released as miniatures by DP9.

BUT - DP9 has already announced that they will produce two Japanese walkers (with Lance like pole minis!), 1 British and 1 US walker soon.

I have to face the truth; The World at War: Gear Krieg book is a success!
http://www.wargamevault.com/product_info.php?products_id=63973
We have sold more copies of the book in the first week as of the US VC or the Chinese AB so far...

In addition DP9 announced an extended sale on all Gear Krieg minis!
20% off on all GK minis until September 21st!
http://www.dp9.com/

Time to rethink our planned releases (http://www.agisn.de/html/a_d__publishing.html)and to announce the 1st Supplement to Gear Krieg: The British Walker Compendium.

Hi again,

I finished the next already shown Gear Krieg tank conversion - the pinnacle of Soviet engineering, the IS-2 Tesla death Ray tank!
IS-2_Tesla_600.jpg

The conversion is again based on a FoW tank, the Tesla gun is from the Allied weapon pack of DP9, the additional heat sink on the engine deck is from the GZG 15 mm building fittings and the plastic heat sink is a GW Tau part out of my “bits” box...

More on my website:
http://www.agisn.de/html/experimental_tanks.html

And -Just to let you know asap: I am right now uploading the files for our next release: "World at War: Gear Krieg - British Walker Compendium I: Cavalier" to A.D.Publishings layout guru: Dave Robotham.
Expect the release within September 2009!
The Roundhead book will follow soon after. The other British walkers (Ironside and Quadruped) will follow as soon as there are miniatures for them.

So the next walker book after the British is the Loki.
