WOW! Agis... I just picked the German Vehicle Compendium from Wargames Vault and I must say.... TOP NOTCH!!! Money very well spent as far as I'm concerned.

My Panzergrenadiers are cackling madly! I can hear them right now, inside of their case, plotting the destruction of the Allies...

Well done, sir. Well done!

@ spelling: Why not use one of those handy tools like the Google Spellchecker?

@hydrofoil snow mobiles and amphibious troop transports: ??? Too late for that, sorry we are already in layout. :(
Do you have any more info on these units, maybe with some web links?
A nice S&P article is always an option... 8)

if you knew much about dyslexiya youd understand why ... hard to tell the differenc between several words that all look the same in spell check.l !!!

but the aerosan is one of the vehicles im on about...

and the other one is close in looks from my memory...

go on chuck them in.... please lol

For the amphibious transport, was it a lend-lease DUKWor Weasel? The Weasel looks a little like that T-20 tractor, but the bench is facing front. I can't find a good picture of a DUKW with seats, but it certainly had enough room to mount a couple benches.

the little russian tractor (konsom...you know which one) is meanwhile available from boltaction, i bought mine two months ago and its sitting near my computer just now

It would be nice as a small and cheap transport, also as towing vehicle for paks or artillery (which artillery  )

the aerosan is indeed a never ending story...but i still keep my fingers crossed...

cheers alexander

It's quite interesting really - the most important lend lease materiel to the Soviets wasn't the tanks (the numbers were pretty inconsequential when you think about it) - it was all those lovely American softskinned vehicles.

All those GM trucks....

But they don't really do that much in game terms!

The number of lend-lease tanks was quite low, but they were available, when each vehicle could mean the difference between survival and defeat.

Hmm, I knew of these, but they were just too strange to be included.

So you have the Maus in the German publication, but the Aerosan and Komsomolets are "too strange"?!!!!! :D

Absolutely! 8)
I include 1 "What If!" vehicle in all 4 vehicle Compendiums:
German - Maus
Soviet - IS-3
British - Centurion
US - Pershing
All not or very seldom used.

But for what the Aerosan? It just has no "ring" to me.
Only usable in snowy environments, so very limited gaming use.
And as said above, the proposal came too late to be included. :?

The aerosan will, I am sure, find a more-than-happy home when some one sorts out a "Winter War" publication :)

aero san was widly used in the thaw as well as it could traverse mud that had tanks stuck and unable to move due to the aerosans light weight... dont ask me how as i cant get my head around how either :S maybe im thinking of british mud lol maybe russian mud is more slippery ?

aero sans acording to a wargames magazine i got from years ago, is often over looked but where often feilded in huge numbers, and i have a few scenarios that utalise them, there where 3 main types aparently, but thus far ive only seen 2 the russians used in ww2...

you realy do need to add the aerosan to the russian list, its an electronic publication just add it as a free supliment slash upgrade...

i will probably pick up the russian and german supliment at some point, but without the aerosan il probably give it a miss, as i realy whant to play the senarios in my old magazines, and most of them require aerosans.
