Many years ago, one of the reasons we played Traveller in High School rather than D&D was the smaller size of the books.

Not to mention whilst D&D had Holy Avengers and +3 Platemail, it just wasn't as cool as FGMP-15s and Battle Dress - ah how I fondly recall my totally broken and thoroughly awesome starting Traveller games in the early 80s :)

Just Battle Dress and Fusion guns? Your GM was holding out on you - we all had starships and planets! It was a good thing Trillion Credit Squadron came along when it did.

Ah happy memories of building massive jump tenders and battle riders. However, with the current financial depression in the world, not to mention the fact that it was a Trillion Credits almost 30 years ago, surely we'd need Quadrillion Credit Squadron nowadays and we'd still only get half of the fleet we used to.

*yeah, it sounds like I slacked off, but frankly, Traveller did more to motivate me to learn math than any HS teacher ever did.

It motivated me to buy my first calculator :D but then I'm bad at math...

Yep, one of our early quests was to find that ellusive TL16+ world so we could build our super-starship.

Luckily Paranoia Press gave us the Beyond and the Vanguard Reaches, so we got what we needed, we just had to get there!

THEN we decided that we would take our fleet of TL16 ships to the Solomani Rim and declare ourselves "Phoenix" and start the Second Solomani Rim War and free Terra!

Ah, good times.
