Type-Moon(Nasuverse) RPG

I wasn't trying to imply that Shinji was supposed to be with her forever; I was glad when he got what was coming to him in HF.

Yet I wasn't sure how to phrase what their relationship would be in game terms, and it definitely would be counted as a disadvantage in this game setting. He does act a lot like an abusive spouse (disregarding the wishes of the other partner, emotional blackmail, physical violence, etc.) so I leaned towards terming it "abusive partner". If I say "abusive partner" or "abusive spouse" and then grant extra points for it as a secret, a new Storyteller knows exactly what I am trying to get across in the text.

Abusive Sibling is close enough, I'd say. I doubt she would think of him as either a 'spouse' or 'partner'...

It's not my intention to be cruel to any of these characters; with that aside, I must discuss the events of the source material, however tragic they may be, and try to describe everything in terms so that people with no experience with the source material can pick up the book and play ... while also including rules for "jumping in" to the story with pre-existing or OC characters.

Well, so far the jumping-in mainly covers the 'it's HF, run!' type.

To give an example, in one particular fic, I followed a couple of years after UBW-Good - in which things were a little different, when it came to freeing her (and in terms of what it is she is being freed from).

You are under no obligation to use anything I tried to come up with, of course - but either way, a little more detail about how to involve her in non-HF settings might be worth considering.

Simply saying that she's a piece of the furniture doesn't do her justice, in my humble view.

I would not do that. Sakura, Dark or otherwise, would not approve.

Later on I wouldn't mind taking a look at some fanfic to see how they treated Fate after the events of FSN, if you are willing to provide links.

So any ideas on the licensing retsrictions on this?

First you'd need to determine who is the primary holder of the "Fate" license here in the States (it's either Funimation or Geneon). Then you'd need to go about purchasing the rights to using the characters from them. If they had not gained the rights to produce print media for this, then you'd need to contact the Type-Moon company itself in Japan.

Its a shame we havnt branched ourselves out into more of a Japanese market (myself being a very big fan of all things Japanese)

maybe in the future i might convince matt to give it a go, the reason i ask is because creatively speaking your work could be produced....

we can always hope :)

Bear in mind that 'print media' is already being produced in the West - the manga is being released by Tokyopop.

Not sure what that would do to affect an RPG release, however.

Good point!
And DrMaster Books is publishing the Tsukihime manga.

Chapter 9 is up.

This new Storyteller-specific chapter Ten is shaping up to be pretty large. I've updated the pdf (the new version should be up on the "internets" within the hour) with part of the rules for True Ancestors and Vampires, including ways to play them as PC races, and also have rules for the various types of the Dead, for zombie-fighting fun.

The next part of the chapter will have more rules on designing Servants, and is going to be quite sizable.

The current url for the pdf is this one: http://tinyurl.com/4tpyff

Here's a small grimoire of the spells used in the various games and novels. There are also rules defining Bounded Fields in case you wanted to make your own for whatever reason.

Fair enough. While I like the novels for them, as they provide some extra info, there are certain events in the novel that are more fun to watch, such as the fights between Shiki and Fujino. Araya Souren was also great to see animated.

Actually, is the system at a stage where you could generate profiles for non-listed Servants?

(For example, I wrote up this profile before - what, if anything, would it look like in RPG form?)

I'm now uploading the latest version of the PDF, which has complete profiles on all the eight (yes, Avenger's in there too) Servants. The next stage is to outline all the Noble Phantasms and then have rules for you to roll your own.

Edit/Update//: Book's now up and online with some new stuff.
