Tufleyverse Traveller

I think it would be pretty awesome. I love Dirtside and Stargrunt, even if I could rarely pull my group away from WH40k.

I can't imagine it being a difficult conversion...GZG always had pretty Traveller-esque vibes going on.

But yeah...I would be exceedingly interested.

So, if I was to do some specific stuff (depending on Jon @ GZG etc) how would that be received?

Kinda recursive? :D

Considering Traveller was one of Jon's major inspirations for his stuff.

But I would be amused. I have been pondering how to retread Fullthrust for Traveller (i.e. figure out how to use MGTs skills in FT).

I believe that it would very closely resemble an alternative, parallel version of 2300 AD rather than Traveller.

Which would not surprise me, given that 2300 AD is the other great influence on the Tuffleyverse.

BTW, yes, I would be interested if the job is well done. :)

Dirtside? Stargrunt? What is this of which you speak?

They're scifi miniature wargames (Dirtside is battalion, Stargrunt is squad based). It's got a very Traveller-esque feel. Full Thrust is the space battle game, which is still reasonably Traveller-y.

I think GZG gives Dirtside II and Full Thrust out for free as pdfs on their website. Dig around the internet and you should find it.

Perhaps it is high time to bring Power Projection into to the MGT fold ?

To be quite honest my set has found that while PowerProjection is a good idea it is lacking in execution. Another run at it might be a good idea.

Or a atempt to bring it to the RPG scale would be nice.

I notice that Dirtside II and Stargrunt II were mentioned in this thread; for Traveller fans, there has been some work done on mating them with Traveler; Ken Pick has written some articles under the Striker Zero title at Freelance Traveller.

In spreading the "MGT Gospel", what are your thoughts on promoting MGT as the RPG rules system among players of the various Tuffleyverse games ? A Mongoose Publishing / GZG tie up ?

And in the reverse, it would be interesting to know to what extent do MGT gamers use GZG rules for space or planetside combat.

Should indeed BITS and/or Mongoose Publishing consider revising Power Projection, and other GZG rulesets for MGT as was suggested in this thread ?

A book of RPG deckplans of Tuffleyverse FT ships would make a lot of sense.

Actually that has been a suggested solution to the lack of the FMA ruleset.

One raising hand..... StarGrunt2 is Traveller as far as I am concerned.

I would like to figure out how to adapt FullThrust to Traveller rpg scale ship combat i.e. making skills count... I am not overly fond of power projection in that is focus is on the larger ships.

I've been playing around with this for quite a while. We should chat.
