Traveller Trade Tool

I found the subsector listings on the mapping tab. Thanks for pointing it out.

It still wasn't as useful for my brain in seeing where I was changing subsectors, so I made an addition that I think others might find useful. Just tables that point at the appropriate spots in the data you provided, but a quick visual of what is above/below/beside the place you are.

In case didn't see them, there are actual maps on the 'Mapping' tab over in columns X and AC for the purchase sector and sale sector, respectively.

I didn't see them. Too much data. That's why I made the ones I did and then relocated them under the map on the input tab. I needed the data where I wanted to enter things and not where they were at. Thanks for point them them out, though. I had no idea they were there.

On the input tab, I now have this.

And the changes you made seem to let me do what I need to on the purchase and sales tabs. Thanks.

In case these might be useful additions for others, I added a % of Buy column on the Sales tab to show which are the best deals. I used the color coded highlighting to show it more clearly.

On the Sales tab, I added three columns: One to show what the product was purchased for (yes, I know they might be holding over some cargo, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule), % of Purchase, and Profit / Ton. Those make it much clearer what could be sold at the best profit and you can see the data on one tab.

Thanks again for the great tool and listening to me whine as I break things. ;)

For held over cargo, on the sale tab, one could simply enter the other purchase price in the appropriate cell and the add-ons I made will still work perfectly. Same for tonnage. Problem solved and new stuff still can be used.

On the Purchases tab, I also added a Discount column to show at a glance how much is saved on a potential purchase. I think all of these tweaks add functionality, so I urge you to consider adding them for everyone. I also changed % of Buy to % of Base Price as that was what it was. Also changed % of Purchase to % of Purchase Price.

Can I request some functionality additions?
I'd like a drop-down or text box option to change the standard step in price adjustment for the broker roll. Being able to choose between 1 through 5% for purchase or sale would be good. I see the regular chart has bigger jumps at the extreme ends and maybe just override those if the default value is changed?
Also, can we get the option to add things like tariffs, duties or other fees for buying and selling? Especially illegal ones, since you'll have to find a buyer and that probably includes bribes, fines and other administrative fees to move those goods?

For those that might be interested in the alterations I made.

On the Sales tab, I added three columns. First, it shows the purchase price, so you don't have to guess or switch tabs. Second, it shows the percent of purchase price so you can see how the trade would go at a glance. Lastly, it shows the profit per ton so you can get an absolute idea of how you did without a calculator.

If you've held a cargo over because you couldn't get a good price, you can change the purchase price to what you paid in that column on the Sales tab and it will get cleared out when new cargo is generated.

The additional columns on the Sales tab meant that I needed to move some things around so that they were still visible to the right. They still work exactly as before.

This version has been modified by me to add additional functionality. There is a spot on the Input tab that displays the layout of the subsectors, so you don't need to struggle when crossing a boundary.

Additionally, I added two columns to the Purchases tab to show the percentage of discount from the base price and the actual amount that would be saved.

I hope these changes enhance your experience with this tool. Enjoy!

Found a bad bit of data. Going from Mallory to Orichalc:

The dropdown has it across the sector. Nothing in that hex, by the way.

Looks like it found a system by that name in the Massilia sector and used its hex number. It probably needs more robust sector validation.
