Please note that release dates listed here are expected PDF releases and pre-order dates - printed editions will likely appear 3-4 months later. Though we will be updating this particular post rather than appending more, you are welcome to make comments and ask questions in this thread!

January
The Great Rift Update 2025:
The Great Rift is getting the Update treatment! This will be a free PDF upgrade for current owners, and new visitors to the mighty Great Rift will find it in a brand new format, as two books and poster sector maps within a slipcase, all with updated art and a brand new chapter covering adventures within this barely explored area of space.

February
The Borderland:
Comprising two system clusters in the Reach on the edge of the Great Rift, the Borderland is the perfect sandbox for a campaign - plenty of places for Travellers to explore but confined enough for a Referee to predict where they will go next! This book fleshes out the worlds and peoples of the Borderland as a backdrop to an entire Referee-created campaign.

March
The Riverland :
In this adventure, your Travellers will be Zhodani operatives engaging in a mission takes them from the wreckage of the Jewell Naval Base to Tureded, where they join forces with Ine Givar insurgents. This is a different face of the Fifth Frontier War, fought with bombs and propaganda, but no less critical than the great fleet battles.

April
Great Rift Adventures 1-5:
A compilation of adventures set within the empire-less expanse of the Great Rift. Includes revision of the first three Great Rift Adventures already released, plus two completely new titles - The Undying and The Lost Garden. A resource for Referees whose Travellers have ventured into the Great Rift, providing adventures that can be pulled out at a moment's notice.

Reach Adventure 9 - The Hellworld Heists: Set in the Trojan Reach, this adventure will see your Travellers planning and executing a series of heists for a royal patron. From trains to space stations, they will need to carefully review the information they are able to gather, obtain the information and knowledge needed to spring the heists... and then pull them off and get away before they suffer the reprisals!

May
Armies of the Fifth Frontier War:
A grand look at the land forces of the Fifth Frontier War, those brave souls who battle for land and actually hold the planets that the navies claim. Covering not only the Imperium and Zhodani, but also the Darrians and Sword Worlds, you will learn how these forces fight, the tactics and strategies employed (with many detailed examples!), and the vehicles and equipment they use.

July
Core Expeditions:
The Zhodani expeditions towards the galactic core are perhaps the greatest exploratory endeavours Humaniti has ever attempted. What drives them? What have they encountered? What is it like to be part of their scouting fleets or outpost building crews? Take part in pushing back the frontier on the very cutting edge of Charted Space.

Vehicle Handbook Update 2025: With both vehicle rules and the construction system re-written from the ground up, the Vehicle Handbook Update 2025 is not just a graphical update but a complete replacement for the core vehicle rules for Traveller. Expect a mighty tome from fan-favourite Geir Lanesskog comprising a multitude of new options, from humble push bikes and horse-drawn wagons, to aerospace interceptors, land ships and floating cities!

In the works and to be slotted into the schedule in the not too distant future:

The Aslan Hierate
Legend of the Sky Raiders
Pioneer
Singularity
2300AD: Invasion
2300AD: Building the Frontier
FFW: Brushfires
FFW: Consular Envoy
FFW: The Lanth Campaign
The Ine Givar

As noted before, everything is subject to change and rescheduling, but all the titles above have either already been written and are undergoing layout, or are in some stage of writing!

Ooh, I am preparing for a campaign set in the Islands cluster, so this is good timing!
Will the Rift adventures assume that the travellers are natives, visiting Imperials, or does it not matter?

I have to admit to some disappointment that The Core Expeditions has been pushed so far out - out of what was previously listed, that's the one I'm currently most interested in. Although the two updates are both on my interest list, as well, so having target dates for those is good. As is finally having word on just what Singularity is going to be (although I was kinda-sorta hoping for an ultratech sourcebook... maybe an idea for the future?)

the existing Rift adventures assume Imperials. What the 2 new ones in this upcoming book will do is unclear.

An update of the Field Catalogue personal weapon design, as the one planned for the vehicle handbook, would also be welcome :-)

And yet Geir told us in his thread that he was not allowed to re-write the construction system from the ground up, and as a result some of the issues with the previous version will remain.

So has that changed?

Are we now getting a complete re-write of the construction rules? Will the new Vehicle rules replace those in the CRB? Will that necessitate an eventual update to the 2022 update of the CRB? New edition by, oh I don't know, a certain anniversary in 2027?

(Only two years...)

You should be able to use any Rift adventure for anybody... Zhodani agents trying to bugger Imperial plans, Aslan ihatei scouting the joint, anybody.

The Great Rift Update 2025: The Great Rift is getting the Update treatment! This will be a free PDF upgrade for current owners, and new visitors to the mighty Great Rift will find it in a brand new format, as two books and poster sector maps ...
Are the current 4 books going to be totally merged into two new books, or are some books going to be omitted from the new slipcase set?
in a brand new format, as two books and poster sector maps within a slipcase,
Please make sure the slipcase is wide enough for the books and maps - and don't do what Chaosium did with RuneQuest, and make the slipcases too narrow. Ta in advance.

So has that changed?

Are we now getting a complete re-write of the construction rules? Will the new Vehicle rules replace those in the CRB? Will that necessitate an eventual update to the 2022 update of the CRB? New edition by, oh I don't know, a certain anniversary in 2027?
Two things... the 'new' construction system looks, smells and feels like the current edition, and you will immediately feel right at home with it. However, it has effectively been re-written from the ground up. Think of it as using the same template, but work was started afresh.

The Big Change is that there is now a new rules chapter for using vehicles, which replaces sections of the Vehicles chapter in the Core Rulebook. All sorts of bits and pieces here but, fundamentally, the (a) big change is that you no longer use Hull to track damage to vehicles. They still have a Hull stat but that is used during the construction process rather than combat. What you will be doing instead is tracking critical hits - the idea here is that just plinking bits off a vehicle will (eventually) render it into its component atoms but it will stop functioning way beyond that. A vehicle in battle will often remain more or less intact, at a structural level, but its systems will have been rendered useless long before you would say the vehicle has been 'destroyed'.

Hopefully, you will also find the system far more intuitive and streamlined in play too - that is the bit we are working on right now :)

As for an anniversary edition of the Core Rulebook, while these vehicle rules will eventually be incorporated into it (along with robots, to some extent or another), there is no rush. The vehicle rules in the Core Rulebook still work perfectly well, and we are looking at the extent to which current vehicles can be used with the new rules (much as with ships between High Guard and High Guard Update 2022), so there is no immediate rush.

Which is a long way of saying, yes, the idea of an anniversary Core Rulebook Update 2027 has occurred to us, but we will only do it if Traveller itself needs an update at that point - we won't push it through just because the anniversary is a convenient date.

There are plenty of other things we can do for 2027 celebrations :)

Hope that helps!
