Traveller character pack

I have a question about the Traveller character pack. How useful is the character pack? I played Traveller back in the 80's and I'm getting back into the game again. I have all of the current character books and some of the supplemental books. What is your opinion on the character pack and what comes in it. Thank you.

MY players found it really useful it allowed me to give them a list of skills I knew they would need. They then spread them around the group so that they ended up with a few of them having the same needed skills and at least one of them having the basic skills I thought they would need for the first few games.

Is it just well organized character sheets and does it give come with additional information?

Looks like the character pack isn't very popular. Some how this makes me more interested in it. I think I will buy one just to look at it.
