Torpedoes and Crits

Ok bear with me, I have only played VAS once so far. But from what I know, it is possible for a Torpedo to score multiple crits, on various parts of a ship. Now with small ships this is quite understandable, but its going to take some explaining, if a Torp scores engineering hits AND a Bridge hits againts the Yamoto.

Shouldn't the Torp, and other 1 shot weapons apply their crits to one area. In other words, if a Torp scores 2 crits. Then only one location die is roll, and both are randomly rolled on that location?

Just a thought, thats all.

torpedoes can reroll one of the dice for the critical, but they dont roll twice.

Its possible for a torpedo /attack/ to inflict multiple hits and thus, multiple criticals, but that would be a salvo of torpedo's, not a single one.

Fairy Swordfish dont carry salvos of torps ;)

Its quite possible for underwater explosions to cause damage quite remote from the point of impact througb shock and whipping effects, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

a hit on the torpedo belt might cause structural damage which causes support struts to collapse, and damage areas on the superstructure, for example.

OK, let's use your example.....

Torpedo strikes Yamato in the engineering section. Flame, smoke and water flood into the section. As the water reaches the generators supplying power to the ship a massive short circuit knocks all the hardware on the ships bridge offline. Thefore, crit to engineering and crit to bridge.

That would be the way I'd think of it.
