Too dumb to be a Hiver 😝

I’ve gone over Hiver Traveller creation from Aliens vol. 2 a couple of times now and it’s still confusing to me. When does a Hiver receive nest benefits? I’m also not clear on the advancement procedure. Can someone clarify this? Thanks!

When does a Hiver receive nest benefits?

I thinks Hivers receive nest benefits at start of a first term instead of receiving the CRB basic training. That would be here:

Scrub CRB basic training and insert hiver nest benefits.

I always thought the best use of Hivers was as the proverbial guy behind the curtain who helps/hinders the traveller's based on the plot. I can't imagine the challenge of actually playing one.
