Tiger Starfuries

Nomad

Mongoose
Nice minis, good stats, thanks, Mongoose!

One question - are the Nova-class 'furies that enter service during the Dilgar war represented by the same stats as the Aurora (they look almost identical), or will there be an intermediate version?

I have a question along similar lines (sorry to go off track):

the inservice dates for the standard Hyperion list it as 2040, it features a heavy laser cannon as its main weapon. This version is in all 3 EA lists. However, the EA command Hyperion which is only in the 3rd age list was, as the fluff states, the first version of the hyperion to have the heavy laser armament, which is a bit odd.....

Therefore what I would like to know is what was the previous standard hyperion armed with, eg the one used in the Dilgar war specifically. Going by the in service dates the only viable hyperions around when the dilgar war was going on was the missle and assault versions. I dont have the EA/Minbari war supplement so is it in there or does everyone just use the standard version?

As for the Tiger I like it a lot, shame there is no difference between the Nova and Aurora Starfury stats. It would have added some extra flavour for the early EA list, ofcourse using priority levels makes this difficult.

Its nice that EA are getting a Starfury for nearly every fleet list now, Thank you mongoose. The Early EA is...well becoming Early. Can we assume that these Tigers are going to be in the Early EA Boxset?

As for the Hyperion; i think somewhere on the boards their was a suggetion to change it from beams to alot of bore mounted plasma-weaponry or add a load of additional particle arrays without the weak trait. The thing is if you don't use in-service dates very few hyperion variants are used because the beam variety is just better and in use throught all eras. Perhaps a hybrid of all the variants can, ironically, create an Early EA Hyperion that loses its beams for a set of rail guns and missle racks. That way we could have a Hyperion Gunship (the origianal intent of the ship iirc) and truly end the annoying 'oh Early Earth is not early' debate once and for all.

thanks, I had always thought a better way of doing it would have been to have a time period specific list for each involved fleet within the Dilgar and Earth Minbari War books. This would only have taken a few pages for the stats and may even have increased sales with the increased interest they would generate.

I understand that time periods are not of a lot of interest to the majority of players but that might have helped?

As a quick fix I had thought of using the assault hyperion stats with the shuttle replaced with a fighter wing and a lower troop count.

A 'wars of the age' book would be a decent addition; it would essentially condense the major conflicts into a book, with scenarios and their own unique fleet lists. As far as i recall no one in my gaming group uses ships from the E/M war book outside of those scenarios.

I mean i'd buy a book that had;

Dligar War,
Earth/Minbari War,
Shadow War,
Earth Civil War,
Narn vs. Centauri War,
Conflicts from the Legend of The Rangers series
Drakh War/The Crusade
